An electronic device including a display unit and a photoelectric conversion board is provided. The display unit includes a display surface and a back surface which are opposite to each other, and an edge of the photoelectric conversion board is rotatably connected to the back surface of the display unit. The photoelectric conversion board includes a substrate, a first photoelectric conversion unit, and a second photoelectric conversion unit. The substrate has a first surface and a second surface which are opposite to each other, the first photoelectric conversion unit is disposed on the first surface, the second photoelectric conversion unit is disposed on the second surface, and an absorption band of the first photoelectric conversion unit is different from an absorption band of the second photoelectric conversion unit.

Pixel structure and forming method and driving method thereof

A transflective liquid crystal display device. A first substrate having viewing and peripheral areas is provided. The viewing area comprises transmissive and reflective regions. A backlight device is disposed under the first substrate, used to provide a backlight passing through the transmissive region. A power management controller connects the backlight device to control an intensity of the backlight. At least one photodetector is formed on the first substrate in the peripheral area, wherein the photodetector detects an intensity of ambient light above the first substrate, and then provides a corresponding signal to the power management controller to control the intensity of the backlight. According to the invention, the intensity of the backlight automatically becomes greater when the intensity of the ambient light becomes lower, and the intensity of the backlight automatically becomes lower when the intensity of the ambient light becomes greater.

Transflective liquid crystal display device and method of fabricating the same

A method for fabricating a blue phase liquid crystal display is provided. A first substrate is arranged opposite to a second substrate, in which the first and second substrates include a first and a second electrode, respectively. A blue phase liquid crystal layer is sealed between the first substrate and the second substrate, in which the blue phase liquid crystal layer includes a positive blue phase liquid crystal and a monomer. A voltage is applied to the first electrode and the second electrode such that a vertical electric field is formed. The blue phase liquid crystal layer is illuminated with a light source such that the monomer performs polymerization to produce a polymer-stabilized positive blue phase liquid crystal. A blue phase liquid crystal display is also disclosed herein.

Blue phase liquid crystal display and method for fabricating the same

A semiconductor structure and a fabricating method thereof are provided. The fabricating method includes forming a gate, a source, and a drain on a substrate and forming an oxide semiconductor material between the gate and the source and drain. The oxide semiconductor material is formed by performing a deposition process, and nitrogen gas is introduced before the deposition process is completely performed, so as to form oxide semiconductor nitride on the oxide semiconductor material.

Semiconductor structure and fabricating method thereof

A display with a photo sensor is provided, wherein the photo sensor is integrated with an active device array substrate of the display and fabricated through an existing process to reduce the manufacturing cost. A photosensitive silicon-rich dielectric layer or any other photosensitive material layer having similar photosensitive characteristics (for example, a photosensitive semiconductor layer) is adopted to form the photo sensor with a lower electrode and a transparent upper electrode. Thereby, the fill factor of the photo sensor is maximized and noises caused by a backlight source electrode are eliminated.

Display with photo sensor and manufacturing method thereof

A liquid crystal display panel including several first electrode portions, several second electrode portions, and a smectic liquid crystal layer is provided. The first electrode portions and the second electrode portions are disposed on a first substrate. When an AC voltage is applied on the first electrode portions and the second electrode portions, the direction of a horizontal electrical field formed between each first electrode portion and the adjacent second electrode portion is parallel to the surface of the first substrate. The smectic liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first substrate and a second substrate. During the phase change of a liquid crystal molecule of the smectic liquid crystal layer, the horizontal electrical field generated by applying the AC voltage on the first electrode portions and the second electrode portions facilitates the alignment of the liquid crystal molecule of the smectic liquid crystal layer.

Liquid crystal display panel and method for manufacturing thereof and liquid crystal display incorporating the same

An optical compensated bend (OCB) mode liquid crystal display (LCD) includes a pixel electrode, a color filter, a common electrode and a liquid crystal layer. The pixel electrode is formed on the first substrate of the OCB mode LCD. The color filter is formed on the second substrate of the OCB mode LCD. The common electrode is formed on the color filter. The liquid crystal layer is sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate. A step structure is formed on the second structure, so that the liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal layer are twisted into the bend state from the splay state uniformly and quickly.

Optical compensated bend mode liquid crystal display

A pixel structure, disposed on a first substrate, and electrically coupled to at least one scan line and at least one data line is provided. The pixel structure includes a first switch device, a second switch device, at least one pixel electrode, at least one control electrode, and at least one coupling electrode. The first switch device is electrically coupled to the scan line and the data line. The second switch device is electrically coupled to the scan line and the data line. The pixel electrode is electrically coupled to the second switch device. The control electrode is electrically coupled to the first switch element. The coupling electrode is disposed under the control electrode.

A pixel structure of a display including a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal (LC) layer disposed therebetween. The pixel structure comprises a plurality of first, second, and third sub-pixels; a plurality of alignment controlling patterns, respectively formed in the first, second and third sub-pixels for controlling alignment direction of LC molecules of the LC layer; a plurality of opaque regions, respectively formed in the first, second, and third sub-pixels, and substantially aligned with the portion of the alignment controlling patterns, so that the alignment controlling patterns are shielded by the substantially corresponded opaque regions having different areas in at least two of the colored sub-pixels.

A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a first vertical electrode, a second vertical electrode, a first pixel electrode, a first counter electrode, and a liquid crystal layer. The second substrate is disposed to be opposite to the first substrate, the liquid crystal layer is interposed between the first and second substrates. The liquid crystal layer includes polymer stabilized positive blue phase liquid crystal. The first vertical electrode is at an inner side of the first substrate, and faces the second substrate. The second vertical electrode is at an inner side surface of the second substrate and faces the first vertical electrode. The second vertical electrode and the first vertical electrode have different electrical potentials thus form a vertical electric field perpendicular to the first substrate and the second substrate. The first pixel electrode is at the inner side of the first substrate and faces the second substrate. The first counter electrode is at an inner side of the first substrate. The first pixel electrode and the first counter electrode have different electrical potentials. The first pixel electrode and the first counter electrode provide a horizontal electric field parallel to the first substrate and the second substrate.

Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display including a number of scan lines, a number of data lines, a pixel, a first switch circuit, and a second switch circuit is provided. The scan lines include an Nscan line and an (N+1)scan line, where N is a positive integer. The pixel includes a first sub-pixel and a second sub-pixel. The first switch circuit is coupled to both the Nscan line and the (N+1)scan line and is used for controlling the second sub-pixel. The second switch circuit is coupled to the Nscan line and is used for controlling the first sub-pixel. The pixel is used for displaying a red, a green, a blue, or a white color.

Low color-shift liquid crystal display and driving method therefor

A liquid crystal display includes a gate driver, a data driver and a pixel matrix. The gate driver is for outputting a plurality of gate signals successively. The data driver is for providing a plurality of data signals. The pixel matrix includes a number of pixels. Each pixel includes a first sub-pixel, a second sub-pixel and a voltage coupling device. The voltage coupling device is coupled between the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel such that pixel voltages of the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel are different and have relevant variation.
