In one example, a base cover for a lower housing of a convertible device is described, which may include a metal body and an antenna window attached to the metal body. The antenna window may include a non-metallic structure and a metallic structure disposed within the non-metallic structure such that the metallic structure corresponds to an antenna slot defined in an upper housing of the convertible device.

Antenna windows for base covers

In one example, a dual-band wireless LAN antenna. The antenna includes plural antenna traces disposed in a first plane that is substantially parallel to, and spaced apart from, a plane of electrically conductive material. At least two of the traces are dimensioned to resonate at different frequencies. The antenna also includes a decoupling element disposed in a second plane between the first plane and the conductive plane. The decoupling element is electrically connected to a selected one of the antenna traces. The antenna further includes a conductor which is electrically connected to the decoupling element and to the conductive plane.

Dual-band wireless LAN antenna

A double frequency antenna for transmitting and receiving radio signals includes a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate has a first surface and a second surface opposing each other. The first surface has a first radiation section to radiate a corresponding first frequency. The second surface has a first ground section. The second substrate has four L-shape corners, and a first surface and a second surface opposing each other. The first surface has a second radiation section to radiate a corresponding second frequency. The second surface has a second ground section.

Double frequency antenna

A printed circuit antenna for applications in electronic devices with wireless transmission abilities. The printed circuit antenna contains a substrate and a connector. Both surfaces of the substrate have a feed line, a feed section and a radiation section for wireless transmissions. The connector connects the substrate to an electronic device, with one end having a surface connecting to the substrate and the other end connecting to the electronic device. The connecting plane has an annular concave area in its central region, separating the connecting plane into two connecting regions. This can increase the connection area between the connector and the substrate to avoid breakings and/or departure.

Printed circuit antenna

A circuit-board antenna has a standing wave resonance which is utilized to extend the radiation end of a dipole antenna as its radiation length, e.g. (n&plus;&frac14;) times the wavelength. Half the wavelength in the radiation direction of the dipole antenna is designed to be twisted, the radiation from which cancels with itself, resulting in a radiation gain in the radiation direction. A circuit board is used to make such a dipole antenna. It can conveniently achieve the goal of self cancellation for radiation from the twisty part. The radiation orientation of the antenna can be adjusted to be upward or downward by modifying the extension length between the radiation end and the ground end of the dipole antenna.
