An LLC resonant converter comprises, an LLC resonant converter circuit with an output line and an input line. The LLC resonant converter circuit includes a switch array operatively connecting between the input line and the output line. A controller is connected to the input line by a feed forward line and connected to a respective gate of each switch in the switch array. The controller includes machine readable instructions configured to cause the controller to receive feed forward input from the input line and control switching of the switch array with a pulse frequency modulation (PFM) switching pattern to regulate voltage of the output line.

Feedforward compensation for LLC resonant converters

Systems and methods for using parasitic capacitance of a transformer as an element in a resonant converter are provided. Aspects include determining a parasitic capacitance associated with a transformer, determining a resonant circuit configuration based at least in part on the parasitic capacitance associated with the transformer, and providing a resonant converter comprising the resonant circuit and the transformer.

An electronic power converter is configured to receive power from a power source. The power operates at a switching frequency. The electronic power converter includes a resonant tank circuit operatively connected to the power converter. The resonant tank circuit operates at a tank resonant frequency. The electronic power converter includes a controller operatively connected to the resonant tank circuit. The electronic power converter further includes a variable inductor operatively connected to the resonant tank circuit. The variable inductor is configured to modify the tank resonant frequency to match the switching frequency within a predetermined margin.
