Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for query language interoperability in a graph database are disclosed. Data elements are inserted into a graph database using one or more of a plurality of graph database query languages. The graph database query languages comprise a first graph database query language associated with a first data model and a second graph database query language associated with a second data model. The data elements are stored in the graph database using an internal data model that differs from the first and second data models. One or more of the data elements are retrieved from the graph database based at least in part on a query. The query is expressed using a different graph database query language than the graph database query language used to insert the one or more retrieved data elements.

Query language interoperability in a graph database

Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for global column indexing in a graph database are disclosed. A plurality of data elements of a graph database are stored. The triples comprise identifiers, column names, and values. The column names are globally scoped in the graph database and are associated with data types. Indices corresponding to the column names are created. A particular one of the indices comprises one or more of the values associated with the corresponding column name. A query is performed on the graph database using one or more of the indices corresponding to one of more of the column names associated with the query.

Global column indexing in a graph database

A coordinated network service that facilitates the design and implementation of a coordinated device network of IoT devices. The coordinated network service defines modules for individual IoT devices or coordinated devices that specify the necessary inputs to the device, the outputs from the device and communication protocols. Via an interface, user devices can select a set of IoT devices and specify how they are connected and the decision making logic associated with communication flow. The coordinated network service can then automatically generate mapping information that implements the decision making logic and provides necessary transformations for communications between the specified devices. The selected modules and mappings form a workflow for the coordinated device network. The coordinated network service can then generate executable code to implement the formed workflow in a coordinated device network.

Query language interoperabtility in a graph database

A pickup location is enabled to operate when communication over a network is not available by preemptively synchronizing certain data. For the delivery of an item, an access code that will be used by the user for retrieving the item from a storage compartment at the pickup location may be generated and synchronized between the pickup location and a remote computing resource before the item is delivered. Once the item is delivered to the pickup location, the access code is activated so that it can be used by the user for retrieving the item from the storage compartment.

Systems and methods are described to enable mitigation of network attacks in communication networks. When a network attack is detected, packets within the communication network are routed through a hierarchical mitigation system, which includes at least two tiers of mitigation devices configured to apply mitigation techniques to the packets. Outer tiers of the hierarchical mitigation system (e.g., closer to an edge of the communication network) can apply simple mitigation techniques that are efficient even when distributed, and which provide early mitigation for attack packets while not requiring large amounts of computing resources. Inner tiers of the hierarchical mitigation system (e.g., closer to a destination device) can apply more complex mitigation systems that may require centralized application, and which provide more robust mitigation at a potentially higher computing resource cost.

Hierarchical mitigation of denial of service attacks on communication networks

A pickup location that includes a control station and one or more storage compartment modules provides the ability for items to be ordered and delivered for pickup by a user without having to pack those items in a shipping package prior to shipping from a materials handling facility. Delivering items for pickup by a user without having to package the items prior to shipping, may provide a better experience for the customer, reduce waste in packaging material and a lower cost of delivering the ordered items to the customer.

Systems and methods are described to enable detection of network attacks in communication networks. An attack detection system receives information regarding network traffic occurring at nodes of a communication network, and analyzes the information for anomalous traffic patterns. The attack detection system can use multiple, parallel metric evaluation units programmed to detect specific types of anomalies within traffic patterns. In one instance, a metric evaluation unit is programmed to detect changes in entropy for the traffic, as distributed according to a characteristic such as source address, protocol, or country of origin. Where the entropy of a set of traffic differs from historical averages by a large amount, such as by many standard deviations, the attack detection system may flag the traffic as indicative of an attack, even when the absolute volume of traffic has not changed.

Detecting denial of service attacks on communication networks

A pickup location may be enabled to continue to operate when communication over a network is not available. When communication is not available, a pickup location may not be able to send a confirmation that a user has dropped off an item for a return or to send a request to have the item retrieved by a carrier. The pickup location may be enabled to assign a stored access code that was previously sent to a carrier and which will allow the item to be retrieved by the carrier who has arrived at the pickup location for reasons other than a request to retrieve the item. A retrieval confirmation from the carrier may be utilized to allow a refund or replacement process to be initiated, and to update capacity information for the pickup location, if the carrier meets a certain confidence threshold requirement based on past performance.

A pickup location may be enabled to continue to operate when communication over a network is not available by preemptively synchronizing certain data. For the delivery of an item, order data such as the expected tracking identification for an item may be sent to the pickup location before the item is delivered. An access code that will be used by the user for retrieving the item from a storage compartment at the pickup location may also be generated and synchronized between the pickup location and a remote computing resource before the item is delivered. A delivery of an item as confirmed by a carrier may be reported to a user when communication with the pickup location is unavailable if the carrier meets a certain confidence threshold requirement based on past performance.
