A seat for a motor vehicle, includes a backrest part and a seat part. The backrest part is configured to fold relative to the seat part from a normal position into a folded position and vice-versa. A lower seat structure is included and the seat is configured to move relative to the lower seat structure. At least one front first fastening, one rear second fastening and one diagonal fastening are provided to fasten the seat part to the lower seat structure. The seat is configured to adjust at least into an entry position and into a lowered position distinguishable from the normal position, and the second fastening is configured to release in the entry position. The diagonal fastening is configured to release in the lowered position.

Adjustable seat and method for use

The present disclosure relates to a backrest for vehicle seat, with a head support () which is adjustable in terms of height with respect to the backrest, and with a sensor arranged in the head support () and intended for detecting the position of the head of a person sitting on the vehicle seat in relation to the head support () and for indicating an adjusted end position, in the head support () at least two sensors being arranged, designed as capacitive proximity sensors (), which indicate the position of the head support () with respect to the head (P) as a function of the detected capacitances which are to be found as a capacitance on the electrodes formed by the head (P) and one of the at least two proximity sensors () each.

Backrest for a vehicle seat

The invention relates to a backrest for a vehicle seat, with a head support () which is adjustable in terms of the height of the head support () with respect to the backrest, and with a proximity sensor () for detecting the head position of a person sitting on the vehicle seat in relation to the head support (), an indication for adjusting the head support () in the event of a mispositioning and/or an adjustment of the head support () by an electric drive () out of an initial position taking place until the head of the person sitting on the vehicle seat causes a triggering of the proximity sensor (), the proximity sensor () being arranged in the upper part of the head support () and being directed downward onto the region of greatest curvature of the back of the head of the person sitting on the vehicle seat.

A device for blocking and for releasing an adjusting mechanism having at least two parts which are movable relative to each other is disclosed. The device comprises a blocker configured to be brought at least into a blocking position and a release position relative to the adjusting mechanism. The device further comprises an actuator for changing the position of the blocker between the blocking position and the release position.

Device for an adjusting mechanism, said adjusting mechanism and method

An access- and starting/driving-authorization system for a motor vehicle, having a portable transponder and a control unit accomodated in the motor vehicle, in order to control the smart master-key system and the engine control unit. In inquiry/response dialogs, the transponder and the control unit enabling or blocking access to the motor vehicle, and the starting and driving of the motor vehicle, using sets of code information that are matched to each other. Starting and driving the motor vehicle after forcibly entering the motor vehicle and replacing the engine control unit, including a vehicle immobilizer and a transponder of the control units relevant for starting and driving, is prevented in that the enabling of the motor-vehicle to be started and driven, after a successful starting/driving-authorization inquiry/response dialog, is rendered dependent on a preceding, successful access-authorization inquiry/response dialog.

Access and start/drive authorization system

A rotary latch ( ) of a door lock is retained in a detent position by a spring-mounted retainer ( ). A motor-driven working member ( ) is provided for lifting said retainer ( ). An energy-storing device ( ) subjects a storing member ( ) to a force and hereby serves to lift the retainer ( ) out of its detent position in the rotary latch ( ). To this end, the storing member ( ) has a control surface against which the working member ( ) travels in a first motor phase in order to load the energy-storing device ( ). A counter-control surface ( ) against which the working member ( ) travels when lifting the retainer ( ) in a staggered second motor phase is also provided. The aim of the invention is to provide a reliable door lock which will also function in the event of an accident. To this end, both the control surface ( ) and the counter-control surface ( ) are located on the storing member ( ). The additional force required for lifting the retainer ( ) acts on said retainer indirectly through the storing member ( ). As a result, the quantities of energy produced one after the other in the two motor drive phases can be transmitted spontaneously from the shoulder ( ) of the storing member ( ) to the counter-shoulder ( ) of the retainer ( ).

Door lock, especially for motor vehicles

A vehicle security arrangement includes at least one functional control unit, which provides a first code word; a theft protection control unit, which is coupled via a bus to the at least one functional control unit; and at least one input unit, which transmits to the theft protection control unit a second code word which the theft protection control unit forwards to the at least one function control unit. The theft protection control unit may initiate the provision of the first code word and the second code word. In the at least one functional control unit, a comparison of the first code word of the at least one functional control unit with the second code word takes place. In case of agreement between the first code word and the second code word, the at least one functional control unit enables itself.

Vehicle security device

The invention relates to a closure comprising a closing head ( ) and a lock ( ) which rest on the immobile or mobile part of a door, flap or such like. The closing head ( ) has an undercut axial shoulder ( ) which during coupling is engaged by a radially mobile blocking member ( ) in the lock ( ). The lock ( ) further comprises a sensing member ( ) and a restoring member ( ) for the blocking member ( ). To make the lock less prone to malfunctions the invention provides for the axially spring-loaded sensing member ( ) to be used as a locking means for the radially spring-loaded blocking member ( ). When the locking effect is actuated the blocking member ( ) is held in a release position in relation to the closing head ( ). When the closing head ( ) is engaged the sensing member ( ) carries out an axial movement which releases the lock so that the radial spring-loading can move the blocking member ( ) into its blocked position. Actuation of the restoring member ( ) results in a radial reverse movement of the blocking member ( ), which activates the locking of the sensing member ( ) and locks the blocking member ( ) in its release position.

Closure, especially for vehicles

The invention relates to a door lock provided with a roller catch ( ). When the door is closed an immobile locking part ( ) moves into said roller catch ( ), causing it to pivot from an open position into a preliminary or main latching position, the roller catch ( ) being held by a latch. For greater user comfort and a more compact door lock the invention provides for the same drive motor ( ) to be used as locking aid and as opening aid. A transmission element ( ) which can be moved into two different positions is introduced into the gear assembly ( ). The drive energy generated by the drive motor ( ) is transmitted in one position to the roller catch and in the other position to a second output track leading to the locking latch ( ).

Door lock with roller catch, especially for motor vehicles

The invention relates to a lock that can be used with a flap, comprising a rotary unit that is made up of a rotary spagnolet that interacts with a closing element ( ) and a rotating latch ( ). In order to improve operational performance, the rotary unit is provided with a rigid catch ( ) that preferably has two counter shoulders running in opposite directions. The output member ( ) of a motor ( )&mdash;driven gear mechanism is also provided with two corresponding counter shoulders. This enables the motor to provide assistance with closing and, optionally, opening, whereby the rotary unit can be guided in a closing, tilting direction or an opening, tilting direction until the flap is fully closed or opened. The motor ( ) comprises a gear mechanism with a group of gears that can be displaced between an engaged position and a separated position. The detent pawl ( ) which interacts with the rotating latch ( ) is disabled in the separated position, should an emergency arise. When the flap is in a closed or open position, a free area exists between the shoulders and counter shoulders, enabling the flap to be moved manually.

Motorized lock for flaps or doors in motor vehicles, especially a lock for glove compartments

The invention relates to a rotating catch lock, wherein a closing member ( ) interacts with a catch ( ), which can be rotated between a closing position accommodating the closing member ( ) and an open position which releases said member. The catch ( ) is force-loaded ( ) in an open position and is held by a spring-loaded ( ) rotating latch ( ) in the close position. Said latch ( ) is moved by a motor ( ) between the locking position retaining the catch ( ) and a stand-by release position in which the spring-loaded latch ( ) is propped up by the catch ( ) as long as it remains in an open position. In order to use small compact motors ( ), the invention provides that the stored energy ( ) exerted by an energy storage mechanism ( ) is transmitted to the latch ( ) via a storage lever ( ). Normally, the latch ( ) is shifted into its stand-by position by the storage lever ( ). When the latch ( ) is in a stand-by position, the storage lever ( ) is supported on a control tappet ( ) which is rotationally driven by the motor ( ). The motor ( ) can be driven by an electrical control logic in both a forward mode ( ) unloading the energy storage ( ) and a reverse mode (56&prime;) loading the energy storage ( ), i.e. in opposite directions. In the reverse mode (56&prime;) the control tappet ( ) releases the latch ( ), moves towards the storage lever ( ) and guides it back into a starting position which corresponds to the stand-by position of the latch ( ).

Rotating catch lock, specially for motor vehicles

A vehicle lock has a rotary latch and a closing member cooperating with the rotary latch that is rotatable between a closing position receiving the closing member and an open position releasing the closing member. A pivotable pawl is spring-loaded toward a locking position for securing the rotary latch in the closing position. The pawl has a release position for releasing the rotary latch. Interior, exterior, and safety handles can transfer the pawl into the release position. A common control lever switches the lock between first, second, and third states. The first state is the closing state; vehicle access is authorized via the interior and external handles. The second state is the locking state; access is denied via the exterior handle. The third state is the secured state; access is denied via the external and internal handles. A release lever connected to the control lever transfers the pawl into the release position when actuated by an access-authorized handle.

Rotary latch lock, especially for motor vehicles

The invention relates to a circuit for controlling an electrically activated motor vehicle door lock or the like, with a lock latch (,) and a detent pawl (,) which keeps the lock latch (,) in the closed position and with an electric motorized auxiliary closing drive (,) which is turned on after the lock latch (,) has reached a preclosing position and then moves the lock latch (,) by motor into the main closing position, there being a switch (,) which recognizes the preclosing position, especially a lock latch switch which scans the position of the lock latch (,). The structure of the circuit is especially simple in that the negative pole (,) of the auxiliary closing drive (,) is always connected to ground or negative potential and the positive pole (,) is switched and is either at the positive potential of the vehicle voltage or at ground or is floated and that there is only one switch (,) and the switch (,) is between the ground and a switch terminal (,) and causes switching of the auxiliary closing drive (,). Here it is especially feasible if the auxiliary closing drive (,) shuts off automatically when the lock latch (,) reaches the closed position, especially when the overstroke position of the lock latch (,) which is somewhat on the other side of the closed position is reached, when therefore the positive pole (,) of the auxiliary closing drive (,) is then at ground or negative potential or is open. This applies especially when the criterion for shutting off the auxiliary closing drive (,), when the closed position is reached, especially when the overstroke position of the lock latch (,) which is somewhat on the other side of the closed position is reached, is the power consumption of the auxiliary closing drive (,).

Circuit for controlling an electrically operated motor vehicle door lock or similar

Motor vehicle gate lock, especially tailgate lock

A process for triggering a electrically actuated motor vehicle door lock by a mechanical or electromechanical actuating handle. In this process, triggering takes place such that the electric motor drive always returns to an initial rest position after initial triggering and that actuation of the actuating handle for less than a minimum time does not trigger a switching function. Thus misactuations are unlikely. The operating characteristics of the motor vehicle door lock which is controlled using this process is matched as much as possible to the operating characteristics of mechanical or electromechanical motor vehicle door locks of conventional design. This facilitates acceptance among customers and prevents misoperations.
