A system, a computer program product and a method associate service licenses with a wireless device. A device identifier (device ID) which identifies the wireless device and a Subscriber Identity Module identifier (SIM ID) identifying a SIM card currently inserted in the wireless device are received. If the SIM ID is not currently associated with the device ID, a listing of service licenses associated with the SIM ID is aggregated with a listing of service licenses associated with the device ID. The wireless device is authorized to use service licenses listed in the aggregate listing of service licenses. A virtual SIM identifier may be associated with the SIM identifier and at least one additional service license. The at least one additional service license associated with the virtual SIM identifier may be stored in a database as a subscriber service profile.

System and method for providing service license aggregation across multiple physical and virtual sim cards

A centralised identity and capability resolution server is provided. Each subscriber is provided with a unique ecosystem identifier. The server maintains an association between subscriber identifiers, device identifiers and service identifiers and the unique ecosystem identifier. In one aspect, the server is notified of changes to account information and notifies services and subscribers of the changes.

A system, a computer program product and a method associate service licenses with a wireless device. A device identifier (device ID) which identifies the wireless device and a Subscriber Identity Module identifier (SIM ID) identifying a SIM card currently inserted in the wireless device are received. If the SIM ID is not currently associated with the device ID, a listing of service licenses associated with the SIM ID is aggregated with a listing of service licenses associated with the device ID. The wireless device is authorized to use service licenses listed in the aggregate listing of service licenses. If the SIM ID was currently associated with a second device ID, the service licenses associated with the SIM ID are removed from a listing of service licenses associated with the second device ID and the second wireless device is deauthorized from using these service licenses.

System and method for providing service license aggregation across multiple device SIM cards

A centralised identity and capability resolution server (ICRS) keeps track of which user or subscriber is logged in on every device in a communications ecosystem and maintains the state of user, device and service relationships based on multiple external events. Each subscriber is provided with a unique identifier within the ecosystem or unique ecosystem identifier. The ICRS establishes an association between the service identifier, user and particular device that a user is using for that service. The devices within the ecosystem are configured to inform the ICRS of new accounts, or changes affecting existing accounts, such as cancelling of an account or loss of device. In that way, the ICRS has up to date state of the relationships between user or subscriber identifiers, devices, and various service identifiers. This enables ICRS to retrieve any identifier associated to the subscriber when any other identifier belonging to the user is provided.

According to embodiments described in the specification, a method, system and apparatus for configuring a mobile electronic device are provided. The method comprises storing, in a memory of a provisioning server, a plurality of service records and one of a plurality of operation type parameters in association with each service record; receiving, at the provisioning server, a registration request for the mobile electronic device, the registration request including one or more identifiers identifying ones of the service records that are maintained in the mobile electronic device; selecting, based on the received identifiers and the operation type parameters, at least one service record for transmission; and, transmitting the at least one selected service record.

Method, system and apparatus for configuring a mobile electronic device

There is disclosed a system and method for provisioning mobile communication device upgrades. In an embodiment, the method comprises: providing an automated web service device management interface ('WSDMI') accessible to one or more carriers; adapting a supplier provisioning system to receive via the WSDMI one or more upgrade requests from the one or more carriers; adapting the supplier provisioning system to respond via the WSDMI to the one or more upgrade requests from the one or more carriers; and adapting the supplier provisioning system to execute one or more device upgrades on one or more supplier provisioning system connected devices. In an embodiment, the receiving and responding via the WSDMI is based on SOAP encoded XML messages.

There is disclosed a system and method for transferring a mobile handheld device between mobile carriers. In an embodiment, a system for transferring a handheld device between mobile carriers comprises a provisioning system for receiving from a first mobile carrier a request to register the device on the first mobile carrier's wireless network; a database uniquely identifying the device to determine if the device has been previously registered; deactivation means for deactivating the device from the second mobile carrier's wireless network if the device has been previously registered to a second mobile carrier; and registration means for registering the device on the first mobile carrier's wireless network upon confirmation that the device has been deactivated from the second mobile carrier's wireless network. The device may be uniquely identified by a unique electronic serial number (ESN) or a unique product identification number (PIN).
