A discharge hopper for a tray discharge station for serially discharging shaft trays filled with rod-shaped products includes a conveying element for carrying away the products flowing from the shaft trays and a connecting device for coupling the shaft trays to be emptied to the conveying element. The connecting device is arranged substantially parallel to and spaced apart from the conveying element to form a channel for the product flow and includes an opening for passage of the products from the shaft tray into the channel. In the region of the connecting device there is provided a closure unit to open and close the opening. The closure device is coupled to a movable actuating element so that the closure device can be opened and closed shaft by shaft in relation to the shaft tray to be emptied.

Discharge hopper and method of discharging shaft trays filled with rod-shaped products

The invention concerns an arrangement for filling and/or emptying receptacles filled and/or to be filled with articles, essentially including at least one handling device for transporting receptacles that have been and/or are to be filled between a reservoir and a device which alters the level of the receptacles, at least one device which alters the level of the receptacles, and at least one reservoir for holding receptacles that have been and/or are to be filled, which is distinguished in that the arrangement is designed as a closed unit, such that the handling device is surrounded in cell fashion by the at least one device altering the level of the receptacles and by the at least one reservoir.

Arrangement for the filling and/or emptying of containers filled and/or for filling with articles and manipulation device for transporting the containers

An apparatus is provided for filling an empty shaft tray with rod-shaped products. The shaft tray has shaft walls which form a plurality of shafts. The apparatus includes a filling hopper having a receiving region for a mass flow composed of the products, and a storage region for products comprising a front wall, a rear wall, side walls and a bottom wall. The storage region includes partitions that form a plurality of shafts adjacent to each other, wherein the partitions substantially extend over a full height of the storage region, and wherein the rear wall of the storage region includes openings for passage of the shaft walls of the shaft tray. A delivery element delivers the empty shaft tray into the receiving region of the filling hopper to be filled with the products. A removal element removes a filled shaft tray from the filling hopper.

Apparatus and method for filling containers with rod-shaped products

Successive individual filled trays or successive groups of filled trays for stacks of parallel cigarettes are transported by a carriage from a source at a first level to a higher second level, and their contents are dumped into the magazine of a packing machine. The thus emptied tray(s) is or are returned to the first level and is or are expelled from the carriage, at least indirectly and/or at least in part, by the next following filled tray(s). The expelled emptied tray(s) is or are lowered into a storage facility at a level beneath the first level. The carriage has open front and rear sides for admission of filled trays through the front side and for expulsion of emptied trays through the rear side.

Method of and apparatus for emptying containers

A device used in the tobacco-processing industry for emptying a container filled with rod-shaped articles into a magazine, in which the container has an open upper narrow side and an open wide front side. The device includes a container holder that accommodates the container and which can be tilted by 180&deg; so that the container assumes an emptying position above the magazine. The container holder includes an article support comprising two support strips mounted for being adjacent and movable relative to the open narrow side of the container. An actuation mechanism is connected to the article support for effecting an opening movement in which the two support strips undergo a vertical drop movement and a horizontal spreading movement in which the two movable strips move in opposite directions to respective sides of the container to allow the articles to be released from the container.
