Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media for a handover to dual connectivity. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, a terminal device receives, from a source network device, a connection reconfiguration message comprising configurations about a target master network device and a target secondary network device to be connected with the terminal device. The terminal device performs parallel random access to the target master network device and the target secondary network device. If the terminal device successfully connects to the target secondary network device but fails to connect to the target master network device, the terminal device will reconnect to the target master network device. In addition, the target secondary network device will indicate to the target master network device a result of the random access. As such, the solution can increase the success rate of the handover to dual connectivity.

Handover to dual connectivity

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, methods, apparatuses and computer readable storage media of signalling enabling Timing Advance (TA) exchange between User Equipment (UE) and Radio Access Network (RAN). The method comprises receiving, at a first device, a TA margin from a second device; transmitting, to the second device, information associated with a reference location of the first device at a first time point; determining a reference TA of the first device at least based on the reference location of the first device; determining an actual TA of the first device at least based on an actual location of the first device at a second time point; and determining, based on a comparison of a TA margin with a difference between the reference TA and the actual TA, whether to transmit an updated reference location of the first device to the second device. In this way, the control for uplink overhead from TA/location updates and probability of impacting downlink scheduling become flexible. Furthermore, the downlink delay can be optimised and meanwhile overhead in case of very few small packets transmitted can be minimized. As a result, the network can optimize its own performance and the battery savings of the users.

Signalling enabling timing advance exchange between user equipment and radio access network

According to embodiments of the present disclosure, service-based retransmission scheme for uplink in NTN has been proposed, which can support multiple retransmission schemes based on service type for uplink. The network device determines different retransmission schemes based on the QoS requirements of the services. The terminal device selects the retransmission scheme for the service. In this way, the QoS of different service and reliability of MAC CE can be guaranteed.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to dynamic active time trigger in CFRA. A first device receives a random access request from a second device in a discontinuous reception mode. The first device transmits a random access response to the second device. The random access response comprises at least one of: an indicator of an offset between a reception of the random access response and a start of monitoring scheduling information from the first device, or a flag indicating whether the indicator is present in the random access response. The first device transmits the scheduling information to the second device based on the offset.

Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a solution for transmitting or receiving segments of information. In an aspect, a first device generates a plurality of messages to be transmitted to a second device. Each of the plurality of messages comprises a segment of information to be provided to the second device. The first device transmits a part of the plurality of messages to the second device. In response to the first device being triggered to perform an operation with a higher priority than the transmission of the plurality of messages, the first device performs the operation by interrupting the transmission of rest of the plurality of messages to be transmitted. With example embodiments of the present disclosure, it is enabled that transmission of messages conveying information segments may be interrupted to perform an operation with a higher priority.
