Processes for preparing stabilized metal-containing nanoparticles comprising silver and/or a silver alloy composite by reacting a silver compound with a reducing agent comprising a hydrazine compound at a temperature between about 20&#xb0; C. and about 60&#xb0; C. The reaction being carried out by incrementally adding the silver compound or a mixture of the silver compound and a stabilizer to a solution comprising the reducing agent, a stabilizer, and a solvent. Conductive ink compositions containing stabilized metal-containing nanoparticles prepared by such processes.

Conductive inks compositions and methods for preparation of stabilized metal-containing nanoparticles

An ink composition including a metal nanoparticle; at least one aromatic hydrocarbon solvent, wherein the at least one aromatic hydrocarbon solvent is compatible with the metal nanoparticles; at least one aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent, wherein the at least one aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent is compatible with the metal nanoparticles; wherein the ink composition has a metal content of greater than about 45 percent by weight, based upon the total weight of the ink composition; wherein the ink composition has a viscosity of from about 5 to about 30 centipoise at a temperature of about 20 to about 30&#xb0; C. A process for preparing the ink composition. A process for printing the ink composition comprising pneumatic aerosol printing.

Silver nanoparticle ink

A metal nanoparticle ink dispersion is made by mixing ingredients comprising: a first solvent being nonpolar and having a boiling point above 160&#xb0; C. at 1 atmosphere pressure; a second solvent having a boiling point above 230&#xb0; C. at 1 atmosphere pressure, the second organic solvent being an aromatic hydrocarbon and having a higher boiling point than the first hydrocarbon solvent; and a plurality of metal nanoparticles. A method of printing the metal nanoparticle ink dispersion is also disclosed.

The present disclosure is directed to a composition including a polyvinyl butyral represented by the following formula: wherein A, B and C represent a proportion of corresponding repeat units expressed as a weight percent, wherein each repeat unit is randomly distributed along a polymer chain and wherein the sum of A, B and C is about 100 weight percent; a poly(melamine-co-formaldehyde) based polymer and an anhydride. Devices coated with the composition and cured films formed from the composition comprising conductive features are also provided.

A conductive composition that comprises a branched metal carboxylate and one or more solvents. The solvents may be an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent. In embodiments, the branched metal carboxylate is a silver carboxylate. The conductive composition may be used in forming conductive features on a substrate, including by inkjet printing, screen printing or offset printing.

Conductive ink compositions and methods for preparation of stabilized metal-containing nanoparticles

An electronic device, such as a thin-film transistor, includes a semiconducting layer formed from a semiconductor composition. The semiconductor composition comprises a polymer binder and a small molecule semiconductor. The small molecule semiconductor in the semiconducting layer has a crystallite size of less than 100 nanometers. Devices formed from the composition exhibit high mobility and excellent stability.

Semiconductor composition

A thixotropic conductive composition is disclosed that can be used to form conductive features on an electronic device. The thixotropic composition comprises a conjugated polymer, a solvent, and multi-wall carbon nanotubes. The conjugated polymer and the solvent are capable of forming a thixotropic fluid. This enables excellent stability of the carbon nanotubes in the composition at a very high loading. The composition has a long shelf life.

An article of manufacture includes a substrate and a stretchable, conductive film. The stretchable, conductive film includes a plurality of annealed silver nanoparticles disposed on the substrate. The conductive film can be formed from a liquid composition comprising silver nanoparticles in a decalin solvent. The conductive film can further include a first conductivity associated with an as-annealed shape of the conductive film, and the film can include a second conductivity upon being stretched in at least one direction beyond the as-annealed shape.

A method of forming a metal structure. The method comprises providing a dispersion of metal nanoparticles and a solution comprising a transient polymer and solvent. The dispersion of metal nanoparticles and the solution are formed by coaxially electrospinning into a fiber comprising the metal nanoparticles and the transient polymer. The fiber is heated to decompose the transient polymer and form a metallic structure.

A paste composition includes a branched metal carboxylate, a solvent in which the branched metal carboxylate is soluble and a gelling agent, wherein the gelling agent is a linear metal carboxylate. The paste solvent may be an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent. The paste compositing may be free of polymeric binder. The paste may be used in forming conductive features on a substrate, including by screen printing or offset printing.
