Compositions and methods for the use in scale inhibitor squeeze treatments are provided. In some embodiments the present disclosure provides a method including introducing a pre-flush fluid into at least a portion of a subterranean formation, the pre-flush fluid including a choline chloride chemical additive; and introducing a treatment fluid including a scale inhibitor into the portion of the subterranean formation after at least a portion of the pre-flush fluid has been introduced into the portion of the subterranean formation.

Enhanced scale inhibitor squeeze treatment using a chemical additive

A variety of methods, systems, and compositions are disclosed, including, in one embodiment, method of scale inhibition including: introducing a treatment fluid comprising a brine, a scale inhibitor in neutralized form, and a thermally activated acid precursor through a wellbore and into a producing formation; wherein the thermally activated acid precursor is heated to release an acid that enhances miscibility of the scale inhibitor in the brine.

Acid precursors for enhanced inhibitor placement in scale squeeze treatments

A method for increasing the retention of a scale inhibitor within a hydrocarbon producing system is provided. The method includes, the steps of: (i) pre-flushing the system with a liquid; (ii) treating the system with a scale inhibitor; and (iii) over-flushing the system with a composition comprising an ionic polymer and a liquid carrier. The concentration of the ionic polymer in the composition is 5 to 50% wt.

A method for the treatment of a subterranean formation which contains sand particles, said method comprising contacting said formation with a positively charged polymer capable of increasing the residual matrix strength of said sand particles whereby to reduce or prevent their migration while minimizing any decrease in the permeability of said formation. Well treatment

A method for delivering a scale treatment agent to a hydrocarbon producing system. The method includes the steps of contacting the system with a foam comprising the scale treatment agent, and shutting the scale treatment agent in the system for at least 0.5 hour.
