In one form of the present disclosure, vehicle includes: a plurality of electronic devices; a first communication device configured to communicate with a terminal using a first communication method; a second communication device configured to communicate with the terminal using a second communication method; and a control device configured to wake up the plurality of electronic devices when the first communication device wakes up, switch the plurality of electronic devices to a sleep mode when the first communication device is switched to the sleep mode, and selectively control the wake up and the sleep modes of the second communication device based on a message received from the terminal.

A vehicle is provided that includes Ethernet controllers that operate first electronic devices and perform communication using scalable service-oriented middleware on Ethernet/internet protocol (SOME/IP). An Ethernet switch generates a communication path between the Ethernet controllers and executes communication between the Ethernet controllers based on the generated path. A plurality of CAN controllers operate second electronic devices and perform CAN communication. A gateway then executes the CAN communication with the CAN controllers, executes communication with the Ethernet switch, and transmits CAN diagnostic information of the CAN controller to the Ethernet switch.

Diagnostic system and vehicle

A gateway apparatus is provided and includes a communication unit that receives a message via a CAN communication network or an Ethernet communication network. A storage unit stores the received message and a controller converts a format of the received message in a format corresponding to a communication network of the target device based on a message characteristic including a format type of the received message and transmit the message of the converted format to the target device.

A client electronic device, and a vehicle including the client electronic device and a method of controlling the vehicle, are configured to provide redundancy by determining whether an abnormality occurs in a transport layer or an application layer according to whether a time out occurs. The vehicle includes a plurality of electronic devices each configured to supply at least one service and a client electronic device configured to receive the service from at least one of the plurality of electronic devices. The client electronic device may include a communicator configured to communicate with the plurality of electronic devices and a controller. The controller may be configured to: control the communicator to transmit a service request message for a specific service to any one of the plurality of electronic devices; when receiving data corresponding to the service request message from one of the electronic devices, to determine whether a time out occurs for the reception of data; and, when the time out occurs, to control the communicator to transmit the service request message for the specific service to another electronic device of the plurality of electronic devices based on whether any one of a transport layer and an application layer is abnormal.
