A method for performing by a mobile station (MS) a retransmission operation in a device to device (D2D) communication system is provided. The method includes performing a data communication with a peer MS using a D2D communication, receiving feedback information for a retransmission operation for data which is transmitted to the peer MS which is transmitted using a resource block mapped to identification information of a D2D connection from the peer MS, determining whether there is need for retransmission of the data based on the feedback information received from the peer MS, and if there is need for the retransmission of the data, retransmitting the data to the peer MS.

Method and apparatus for performing retransmission operation in device to device communication system

A method and a device for assigning connection identifiers for a device-to-device communication are provided. The method includes checking unused connection identifiers among all entire connection identifiers that can be used for the device-to-device communication, determining a certain number of candidate connection identifiers to be used for the device-to-device communication with the peer user equipment among the unused connection identifiers, transmitting first information relating to data characteristics of a connection to be generated with the peer user equipment to the peer user equipment, and receiving second information relating to at least one connection identifier selected in consideration of the data characteristics based on the first information from the peer user equipment. The second information indicates that at least one connection identifier mapped to respectively different time resource regions is assigned to the connection.

Method and apparatus for assigning connection identifiers of device-to-device communications

A method for supporting Device-to-Device (D2D) communications by a Mobile Station (MS) in a communication system is provided. The method includes performing a network entry procedure with a Base Station (BS) and receiving, from the BS, a BS prefix, a temporary Identifier (ID), and a valid period timer value for the temporary ID, generating a device ID using the BS prefix and the temporary ID, and performing, upon detecting data to be transmitted, communication with a peer MS using the device ID for a time indicated by the valid period timer value. The BS prefix is information unique within the communication system, and the temporary ID is information unique within a coverage area of the BS.

Method and apparatus for supporting device-to-device communications

An apparatus and a method for allocating a Device-to-Device (D2D) IDentity (ID) of a user terminal in an ad-hoc network are provided. The method includes determining that a first D2D ID allocated to the user terminal is duplicated with a second D2D ID allocated to at least one other terminal located within a predefined range from the user terminal, determining whether the user terminal is in communication, when the first D2D ID is duplicated with the second D2D ID, and changing the first D2D ID into a third D2D ID with reference to a D2D ID pool so that the first D2D ID is not duplicated with the second D2D ID, when the user terminal is not in communication.

Apparatus and method for allocating D2D ID of user terminal in ad-hoc network

A method for controlling interference in a Near Field Communication (NFC) network including a plurality of connections for direct communication between terminals is provided. The method includes receiving a signal transmitted by a first terminal through a first connection for direct communication with the first terminal, and measuring received power for the signal, measuring received power for each of interference signals upon receiving the interference signals caused by communication through connections other than the first connection among the plurality of connections, calculating a first Signal-to-Interference Ratio (SIR) using the received power for the signal and the received power for each of interference signals, and determining to one of maintain and release setup for each of the connections other than the first connection, if the first SIR is less than a threshold.

Method and apparatus for controlling interference in near field communication network including a plurality of connections for direct communication between terminals

A method for transmitting and receiving data according to a connection priority between terminals in a Near Field Communication (NFC) system is provided. The method includes determining a Proportional Fair (PF) value used to determine a connection priority of a first connection set up for direct communication between a first terminal and a second terminal, if there is data to transmit, requesting data transmission through the first connection by transmitting the determined PF value to the second terminal, and transmitting the data to the second terminal, if information for granting data transmission through the first connection is received from the second terminal.

Apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving data depending on connection priorities between terminals in near field communication system

An apparatus and a method for transmitting data according to distributed scheduling by guaranteeing fairness and considering system throughput at same time in a wireless communication system are provided. The method for operations of a terminal for transmitting the data include determining a Proportional Fairness (PF) value, determining a link class of a link to a peer terminal using the PF value, determining a variable which is used to determine whether the terminal wins or loses a contention according to the link class, and transmitting a request message requesting channel occupation based on the contention according to the variable.

Apparatus and method for distributed scheduling in wireless communication system

A handoff method in a communication system where BSs providing different radio access interfaces to an MS are connected to an IP-based network through routers. A handoff from a first BS to a second BS is decided for an MS that receives IP service data from the first BS and an L2 connection is established between the MS and the second BS. During the L2 connection establishment, movement of the MS in the IP network is detected. Handoff negotiations are conducted between the first and second BSs by IP signaling. If the handoff is available according to the negotiations, mobility management control is performed considering movement of the MS. The IP service data is transmitted to the MS in a network path reset to the second BS by the mobility management control and an L2 connection is released between the MS and the first BS.

Inter-technology handoff method in an IP-based wireless communication system

Disclosed herein is wireless home LAN system using multiple antennas, and a wireless access point (AP) apparatus in a communication system for providing a plurality of terminals contained in a closed specific area with a wireless access service that includes a plurality of wireless modules arranged in the closed specific area at intervals of a predetermined distance, that are selectively activated, and a control module connected to the wireless modules by wire, for controlling communication performed in the area of the terminals and connection to an external network using the activated wireless modules. The apparatus selectively activates antennas in only a specific area requesting a communication service using a single controller and a plurality of antennas connected to the controller, such that it can solve performance anomalies and inter-cell frequency interference problems. Also, the apparatus controls propagation beams to concentrate on a minimum area, resulting in improved security.

Wireless home LAN system using multiple antennas

A method quickly resuming a downlink service in a hard handover in a cellular mobile communication system. To provide the fast downlink service to an MS during a hard handover from an OBS to an NBS, the NBS receives handover user information from the OBS, and generates an MS temporary ID using the handover user information to identify the MS. If user data is generated for the MS before a connection is established for traffic transmission between the MS and the NBS, the NBS transmits the user data to the MS on an HCCH using the MS temporary ID.

Method of providing a fast downlink service in a hard handover in a cellular communication system

Disclosed is an apparatus for converting internet protocol addresses, including: an address allocating unit for allocating a first private IP address and a second private IP address of a first IP address format to a first terminal and a second terminal upon an access request of the first terminal; an address generating unit for generating a first public IP address of a second IP address format from a hardware address of the first terminal; an address acquiring unit for acquiring a second public IP address of the second IP address format corresponding to a domain name of the second terminal from a domain name server; a storing unit for storing a mapping table where the first private IP address and the second private IP address correspond respectively to the first public IP address and the second public IP address; and a control unit for providing the first private IP address and the second private IP address to the first terminal.
