An LNT (Lean NOx Trap) control method for vehicles increases a purification rate of NOx while preventing an increase in the amount of slip of separated NOx at a relatively low LNT temperature. The method includes a recycle necessity determining step that determines whether to recycle NOx of a LNT in accordance with an amount of adsorbed NOx, a LNT temperature determining step that determines whether a temperature of the LNT is below a predetermined reference temperature, a rich performing step that performs a rich mode when the temperature of the LNT is equal to the reference temperature or above and a pre-rich step that ejects fuel in a rich state when the temperature of the LNT is below the reference temperature.

The present invention provides methods of preparing an improved platinum catalyst for use in fuel cells. The method includes preparing a platinum-loaded template of mesoporous alumina, and preparing a platinum catalyst using said alumina template. To prepare the template, a platinum solution and an aluminum alkoxide-butanol solution are combined to form a mixture and the mixture is then subjected to hydration and condensation reactions. To prepare the platinum catalyst, the template and carbon precursors are subjected to polymerization, and the resultant composite subjected to heat treatment. Due to the uniform platinum particle size and high specific surface area achieved, the method of the invention can produce a platinum catalyst with high catalytic activity and thermal stability and in turn improve the performance of the fuel cell in which the catalyst is used.

The present invention relates to a method for synthesizing highly dispersed supported platinum catalyst. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method of synthesizing highly dispersed supported platinum catalyst comprising: dissolving a reducing agent in a solvent to produce a solution, dissolving a platinum chloride to the same solvent; adding a carbon support and platinum in a predetermined ratio to the above mixed solution, agitating the mixture, performing ultrasonic treatment, and performing heat treatment; and adding a HCl solution, agitating the mixture, separating the precipitates via filtration to produce a catalyst, and then washing the catalyst with distilled water, thereby obtaining an active highly dispersed supported platinum catalyst which has excellent electric charge activity, uniformly-sized platinum particles and relatively high specific surface area.
