Movable insulated conveyor for the continuous casting of slabs, billets, blooms or other products, which is installed in line with a continuous casting plant (13) comprising at least two casting lines (11a-11b), at least one shears (14) and a first stationary tunnel furnace (15) to accommodate and accelerate segments of slabs (31) being positioned between the continuous casting plant (13) and a rolling train (12), a movable tunnel furnace (16) possibly being included in succession to the stationary tunnel furnace (15), at least one of the movable insulated conveyors (19) being comprised in succession to the stationary tunnel furnace (15) and/or upstream of, and in direct cooperation with, the rolling train (12), the movable insulated conveyor (19) including a lower base (32) to support rollers (33) conveying the segments of slabs (31) and an upper insulated and heated hood (20), which at least in the working position is immovable laterally and lengthwise, the lower supporting base (32) being capable of being oriented at least laterally about a substantially vertical axis of rotation (17).

Movable insulated conveyor for the continuous casting of slabs

Heating and/or temperature-maintaining furnace (11) for slabs (35), which includes lateral intake (12a) and outlet (12b) roller conveyors the axis of which is at a right angle to the axis of movement of the slabs (35) within the furnace (11), the roller conveyors (12a-12b) consisting of a plurality of roller-bearing bogies (13) able to move at a right angle to the axis of the roller conveyors (12a-12b), the roller-bearing bogies (13) having a first maintenance/replacement position (13a) outside the furnace (11) and a second working position (13b) in which they cooperate with the inside of the furnace (11), means being also included for the movement of the slabs (35) in the furnace (11), the rollers (10) being supported at both their ends on the roller-bearing bogies (13) by supporting means (19) and being driven by appropriate motor means (21), the supporting means (19) and motor means (21) being located outside the furnace (11) when the roller-bearing bogies (13) is brought to its second working position (13b), the ends of the rollers (10) being accessible from outside the furnace (11), an insulated bottom (39) and insulated sidewalls (22) being included in the roller-bearing bogies (13) to protect the roller-supporting means (19) and the motor means (21) associated with the rollers (10).

Heating and/or temperature-maintaining furnace for slabs

Device for the axial clamping/release of chocks (15) of working rolls (14) on a rolling mill stand, the rolling mill stand including an actuation side (10a-FIG. 1) and a working side (10b-FIG. 2), stationary housings (11) associated with stationary blocks (12) being comprised at the sides, each of the stationary blocks (12) being associated with a relative sliding block (13) positioned in a direction axial to the working rolls (14), each sliding block (13) defining a lodgement for a chock (15), the bearings of the working rolls (14) being lubricated with a centralized air-oil system which comprises a first part of connectors (22) located on the machine and fixed to supporting means (24) and a second part of connectors (17) included on the front of the relative chock (15), the sliding blocks (13) being associated, on the actuation side (10a), with oscillatory means (27) that clamp/release the sliding blocks (13) to/from the relative chocks (15), these oscillatory clamping/ releasing means (27) being able to move from a second position of releasing (FIG. 4) the chock (15) from the relative sliding block (13) to a first clamping position (FIG. 3), these clamping/releasing means (27) in their second releasing position acting on the means (24) that support the first part of the connectors (22) so as to clamp transversely the first part of the connectors (22) in a determined position coordinated axially with the position of the second part of the connectors (17).

Device for the axial clamping/release of the chocks of the rolls in a

Line to produce strip and/or sheet or a combined line for strip/sheet, starting from at least one plant for the continuous casting of thin or medium slabs, the continuous casting plant comprising in sequence a continuous casting machine (12), at least one assembly (13) for shearing to size, a temperature restoration system, a rolling train (17-117) and a possible assembly (19) for the cooling of strip/sheet. A device to accelerate the speed of feed of the slabs is included downstream of the assembly (13) for shearing to size. The temperature-restoration system includes an induction furnace (14) with at least one working frequency to heat the surface and edges of the slabs, the induction furnace (14) being followed by a low-speed descaler (115) and by a tunnel furnace (16). An emergency shears (24) and high-speed descaler (15) is included between the tunnel furnace (16) and the rolling train (17-117).
