A fan module, particularly for cooling motor vehicle engines allows for improved cooling of the fan motor. The fan housing () in which the fan motor () is arranged has fixed air-channeling elements () which are arranged in the region of a fan hub () of the fan wheel () driven by the fan motor () and which only partially cover an outlet cross section () defined by the fan housing ().

Fan module

An electric machine, especially a brushless DC motor. Said electric machine comprises a rotor and a stator which is provided with current-carrying coils. Said rotor, in the circumferential direction, is provided with a plurality of permanent magnets that are embedded in respective magnet retainers between the peripheral surface and the shaft of the rotor in such a manner that the permanent magnets, in the radial direction, are completely encircled by the peripheral surface of the rotor. In the area of the magnet retainer, recesses extend laterally in the circumferential direction of the rotor and axially within the rotor.

Electric machine

A cooling fan () for a motor vehicle has a fan wheel () and a brushless fan motor () which is used to drive the fan wheel (). The fan motor () has an internal rotor (). The fan wheel () is directly connected to the internal rotor () in order to reduce the size of the type of cooling fan () whilst retaining the power output.

Cooling fan for a motor vehicle

The invention relates to a method carried out with simple means for determining the position of the rotor in a sensorless and brushless multi-phase electric motor () in addition to a device particularly suitable for carrying out said method. According to said method, a phase voltage (U) on the clamping side on said motor phase is to be detected after clamping a first motor phase (V) from the reference potentials (U,M) of an intermediate circuit () during a detection period (T), via which the detection period (T) determines a peak value (U*) of the detected phase voltage (U), the peak values (U*) are to be compared to the comparative value (U), and a positon signal (S) is to be produced when the peak value (U*) exceeds the comparative value (U0). The comparative value (U) is then determined digitally such that it corresponds to the value of the phase voltage (U) at a zero crossing of a voltage (U) induced in the first motor phase (V) or an increased or lowered value in relation to a predefined correction value (&#x394;Q).

Method and device for determining the position of a rotor of a brushless and sensorless electric motor

An electromotor has an external stator, and a ventilator vessel which is used to produce a cooling air flow for self-ventilation of the electromotor. In order to improve the cooling of an electromotors, it is proposed to use a ventilator vessel to help direct an air flow along the outer surface of the motor housing, through the inside of the housing of the electromotor and through an air gap formed between the motor housing wall and ventilator vessel.

A pump is provided with an integrated, electronically commutated wet running engine. The pump contains a single-component pump chamber containing a rotor of the wet running engine. The pump allows the pump chamber to be continuously cleaned during the pumping process by water flowing through so that the water is not severely contaminated.

A method and a control device for a brushless DC motor, which has an AC/DC inverter supplied by an intermediate direct voltage circuit for feeding the DC motor, a pattern generator for controlling switches of the AC/DC inverter having a variable frequency and phase periodical switch signal pattern and an input for a signal representative of the present phase position of the rotor of the DC motor. The pattern generator detects an average current strength released by the AC/DC inverter and adjusts a phase offset between the phase position of the rotor and the switch signal pattern in accordance with the detected average current strength and the speed of the motor. The pattern generator controls the motor by adjusting a desired speed of the motor by variation of an average terminal voltage of the motor; detecting the average power requirement of the motor and the lead angle between the rotor of the motor and the driving magnetic field; approximating the lead angle to a desired value given as a function of the speed and the average power requirement.

Method and device for controlling a brushless DC motor

Device for determining the position of the rotor in an electric motor comprises a detector, which is mounted on the electric motor and which is sensitive to the passage of the rotor through a reference position, and comprises a phase-locking loop, which can be synchronized with the output signal of the detector and which furnishes an output signal representative of the position of the rotor. The moments when the rotor passes through a reference position are detected, the period of the oscillator is adapted in such a manner that the reference position passages occur at a predetermined phase of the oscillator, and the position of the rotor is derived from the oscillation of the oscillator between the reference position passages.

A three-phase direct-current motor is controlled by cyclically repeating three first switching states. In each of the three first switching states, one of the three phases of the direct-current motor is periodically switched over between a first and a second input voltage, whereas the two other phases are continuously connected to the first input voltage.

The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for self-commuting control of a brushless, permanently excited direct current motor. Said circuit arrangement determines the commutation interval by evaluating the induction signal of a signal phase. A capacitive interference suppression component is arranged between the signal phase and an adjacent motor phase in the commutation cycle in order to suppress interferences of the induction signal. The capacitive interference suppression component is dimensioned in such a way that interfering influences of the power-switch element upon the induction signal are compensated for. This makes it possible to more accurately determine the momentary rotating position of the rotor and, hence, a differentiated control or adjustment of performance-influencing manipulated variables during operation. This has positive effects upon the efficiency, the power/weight ration and energy consumption of the motor and enables stable operation.

Circuit arrangement and method for controlling a brushless, permanently excited direct current motor

The invention relates to a cooling fan for use in a motor vehicle. To achieve improved cooling of an electric motor it is proposed that the motor housing enclosing the electric motor be used as a heat sink for emitting waste heat into a cooling air flow. The cooling air flow for cooling the electric motor is routed here through the interior of the motor housing and subsequently along the outside of the motor housing over cooling elements in the areas of the air inlet openings and in the area or an air exit gap between fan wheel hub and front part of the motor housing. The cooling air flow is created in this case by the fan wheel hub of the fan wheel driven by the electric motor.

The invention relates to a stator for an electric motor. Said stator has an annular stator package having a plurality of stator teeth. An annular interconnection unit is located on the end face of said stator package. Said annular interconnection contains diverting elements. The interconnection unit has a support component which is provided with a cavity and has slots. Provided in said cavity are a multiplicity of mutually electrically insulated connector rings each having contacting elements routed externally through said slots.

The motor () has a rotor () which can rotate around a rotation axis (A), and a specific number (N) of magnetic poles (). Furthermore, the motor () has a stator () which is arranged coaxially with respect to the rotor () and has three stator teeth () for each two magnetic poles (), which stator teeth () are distributed uniformly around the rotation axis, with center points of mutually adjacent stator teeth () being separated from one another by one slot pitch (Pc). The interface circuit has a single input terminal for receiving an analog or digital control signal indicative of the required speed of rotation of the motor. The type of input signal is recognised by means of comparator circuits. The input signal is processed differently according to its nature in order, in any case, to output an analog signal acceptable by the regulation and control circuit which pilots the motor.
