A PTC thermistor switch for electric motors includes an insulating casing and a PTC thermistor housed in a housing seat made in the insulating casing. The PTC thermistor has a first face and a second face opposite the first face. A first electric terminal is housed in the insulating casing and has two protrusions in direct contact with the first face of the PTC thermistor in two opposite contact points with respect to the center of the first face. The switch also includes a second electric terminal housed in the insulating casing and an elastic arm portion in direct contact with the second face of the PTC thermistor in an intermediate contact point between the contact points of the protrusions. The second electric terminal is arranged so that the elastic arm portion presses against the second face of the PTC thermistor.

A relay device includes: an electromagnet constituted by a metallic core and an electrical winding associated therewith; and a mobile anchor associated with a traction spring and suitable for oscillating around a respective axis of oscillation in response to the combined action of an electromagnetic attraction force, generated by the electromagnet and intended to attract the anchor towards the core, and an elastic recovery force, exerted by the spring and intended to move the anchor away from the core and make it return to an initial position, so as to open or close selectively via the anchor a contact or switch of an external electrical circuit, wherein the anchor has a balanced or equilibrium configuration in which its center of gravity is arranged substantially along the axis of oscillation, and thereby the masses of various portions anchor portions are distributed in a balanced manner around the same axis of oscillation.

Starting device for electric motors provides a circuit including: a first branch connected at one end to a common point and at the opposite end to the start winding of the motor, whereon a starting capacitor, a resistor and fixed contacts of a relay are inserted in series respectively; a second branch in parallel with the first branch, connected at one end to the common point and at the opposite end to the main or run winding of the motors whereon the coil of the relay is inserted; a third branch in parallel with the branches and, connected at one end to the common point and at the opposite end to the start winding of the motor, whereon a run capacitor is installed, this common point being connected to the common connector of the motor via the power supply line.

Starting device for electric motors

A voltmeter relay, of the type normally installed in control boxes for the electric motors of refrigerator compressors, equipped with a built-in terminal board for connection of the relay excitation coil to the electric motor, the pickup and maintenance capacitors, the thermostat and any other utilities. In practice, a terminal board is built into the relay, whereas according to the prior art, it is separate from the relay and therefore requires additional connections. The voltmeter relay is of the type used in association with one or more capacitors, designed to start and power single-phase induction motors, the voltmeter relay being connected to the induction motor, the capacitors and one or more utilities, and includes a built-in terminal board () including all the terminals required to make the connections.

A starting and protection device for refrigerator motors having a thermal protection device and a PTC resistor, includes a common casing containing the protector and the PTC resistor. The casing is formed by two separate bodies designed to house the protector and the PTC resistor respectively. The bodies are separate and distanced to prevent the protector from being affected by the heat developed by resistor.

A starting device for compressors has a PTC resistor and a protection device, both of which are inserted in a casing fitted with couplings for connection to the standard coupling pins present on compressors. A start capacitor or a run capacitor is also included in the casing. The device has a box-shaped casing with teeth or the like which is designed to snap onto the compressor structure, which box-shaped casing contains a thermal protection device, a starting device, in particular constituted by a PTC resistor, and a capacitor which may be a start capacitor or a run capacitor, as the case may be. The casing is fitted with a connector for connection to the pins of the standard connectors on compressors so that the assembly can be fitted simply by connecting the device to the compressor connector, the casing being snap-fitted into its seating in such a way as to eliminate the risk of its becoming disconnected even as a result of vibrations transmitted by the compressor motor.
