A material web having a film layer and a nonwoven layer, along with methods of making the material web, are described. The material web has a plurality of micro-deformations and a plurality of macro-deformations, each of the macro-deformations having a distal end, wherein a first portion of macro-deformations has an open or partially open distal end and wherein a second portion of macro-deformations has distal ends which are configured differently than the distal ends of the first portion, and wherein the material web forms a portion of the topsheet.

Disposable absorbent article

An absorbent article includes a liquid pervious topsheet, a backsheet at least peripherally joined to the topsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between said topsheet and said backsheet. The absorbent article further includes an integrated nonwoven fluid management layer having a basis weight between about 40 gsm and about 65 gsm; and an Urine Standard Rewet Value of 10 mg or less.

Absorbent article having improved comfort

An absorbent article is provided. The absorbent article includes a liquid pervious film topsheet having a body facing surface and a garment facing surface; a backsheet having a body facing surface and a garment facing surface; an absorbent core having a body facing surface and a garment facing surface, the absorbent core being provided between the topsheet and the backsheet; and a bonding layer having a body facing surface and a garment facing surface. The body facing surface of the bonding layer has a fibrous matrix comprising cellulosic fibers and thermoplastic fibers, and the garment facing surface of the topsheet is directly bonded to the body facing surface of the bonding layer at discrete adhesive-free bond points.

Absorbent article with improved bonding

A laminate web having a polymer film layer and a nonwoven layer is disclosed. The polymer film layer makes up a first side of the laminate web and the nonwoven layer makes up a second side of the laminate web. The laminate web has a plurality of first elements extending from the polymer film. The web also has a plurality of second elements formed outwardly from the first side of the laminate web.

Method for fabricating absorbent articles

Method for making an apertured web

The present invention relates to a web comprising: discrete extended elements having open proximal ends, open or closed dismal ends and side walls; macro apertures arranged in a staggered pattern; first regions comprising a first top plane; and second regions comprising a second top plane having a length less than or equal to about 0.9 mm, wherein each of the first regions is surrounded by four distinctive second regions, the four distinctive second regions being connected by two adjacent macro apertures in the first direction and another two adjacent macro apertures in the second direction which is orthogonal to the first direction, and wherein each of the second regions is surrounded by two adjacent first regions and two adjacent macro apertures located in a third direction or a fourth direction not parallel either to the first direction or to the second direction.

Apertured web

An article includes a first web and second web underlying the first web. Each of the first and second webs includes first and second end regions and first and second side regions. The first web includes a precursor web having a pattern of discrete substantially columnar protruded extensions extending only from a first surface of the precursor web, each of the protruded extensions having a sidewall defining an open proximal portion and a closed distal portion. The article further includes a bonding pattern adhering together at least one of the first end regions of the first and second webs and the second end regions of the first and second webs. The bonding pattern includes a plurality of discrete bonding points and a sized spacing between each adjacent bonding point sufficient to have inscribed therein a circle having a diameter of about 1 mm to about 12 mm.

In accordance with an embodiment of the disclosure, an article includes a first web and second web underlying the first web. The first web includes a precursor web having a pattern of discrete substantially columnar protruded extensions extending only from a first surface of the precursor web, each of the protruded extensions having a sidewall defining an open proximal portion and a closed distal portion. The article further includes a bonding pattern. The bonding pattern includes a plurality of discrete bonding points and a sized spacing between each adjacent bonding point sufficient to have inscribed therein a circle having a diameter of about 1 mm to about 12 mm The article comprises between about 70 to 100 discrete bonding points for every 25 to 40 mm along a longitudinal axis of the article.
