Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a telecommunication enclosure having a configuration that can be readily customized in the factory to satisfy customer specifications and can also be readily upgraded in the field. In certain examples, the telecommunication enclosure includes a main housing defining a plurality access ports. A plurality of different add-on components can selectively be coupled to the main housing at the access ports in sealed relation to the main housing. The add-on components can include visual indicators which are visible from outside the main housing when the add-on components are mounted to the main housing.

Fiber optic enclosure with ability to customize and/or upgrade

An optical fiber distribution system including a rack and elements which populate the rack including fiber terminations. Each element includes a chassis and a movable tray. The movable tray includes a synchronized movement device for moving a cable radius limiter. The tray includes cable terminations which extend in a line generally parallel to a direction of movement of the movable tray. Each of the cable terminations are mounted on hinged frame members positioned on each tray. The cables entering and exiting the movable tray follow a generally S-shaped pathway.

Optical fiber distribution system

A modular multi-positionable tray assembly () for mounting within a chassis () of a telecommunications panel () is disclosed. The multi-positionable tray assembly () may include support arm structure () having a first support arm () and a second support arm () that pivotally supports a tray () and that allows the tray assembly () to be installed and removed from the chassis (). The tray () and the support arm structure () cooperatively define a cable routing pathway () that extends through a pivot axis (A) defined by the tray and the support arm. To protect the cables () and to increase accessibility of cables () within the portion of the cable routing pathway () defined by the tray (), a bend radius limiter () can be provided that is rotatably mounted to the tray (). The tray () can also be provided with attachment features for allowing the tray () to accept various telecommunications components, such as splice trays and splitter trays.

Telecommunications tray assembly

The present disclosure relates to a fiber management device or system for facilitating routing and storing optical fibers. The fiber management device includes a flexible, film-like substrate that has optical fiber management, storing functionality, and splicing functionality all on one film-like substrate. The flexible, film-like substrate can provide a routing path for routing optical fibers onto a flexible planar substrate that can be temporarily supported by, mounted on or attached to the flexible planar substrate. The flexible, film-like substrate can accommodate fibers that are in a multi-fiber (e.g., ribbon) configuration or a single fiber configuration.

Flexible organizer and self-supporting unit

A telecommunications enclosure system includes a terminal assembly including an optical terminal that mounts to a terminal mounting bracket via a mechanical coupling interface. The mechanical coupling interface includes a release actuator that allows the optical terminal to be released from the terminal mounting bracket by accessing the release actuator from a first side of the terminal assembly, and also allows the optical terminal to be released from the terminal mounting bracket by accessing the release actuator from an opposite second side of the terminal assembly.

Telecommunications enclosure mounting system

A communication enclosure includes a housing and a fiber optic organizer. The housing defines a plurality of ports. The fiber optic organizer includes a tower configured to hold one or more fiber management trays. The tower is mountable to the housing in one of at least two different tower positions. In the first tower position, the tower is disposed between a first of the ports and a second of the ports. In the second tower position, the tower is disposed between the second port and a third of the ports.

Cable sealing unit with multiple configurations

A hinge structure for pivotally mounting a first telecommunications element to a second telecommunications element includes a hinge pin provided on the first element and a hinge pin receiver provided on the second element. The hinge pin defines a notch separating the pin into two pin halves. The hinge pin receiver defines two sets of opposing surfaces, the two sets separated by a divider, the divider configured to be accommodated by the notch when the hinge pin is inserted into the hinge pin receiver, wherein each opposing surface set defines a slot for receiving each pin half.

Telecommunications distribution elements

A mounting system () for locking two pieces of telecommunications equipment () to prevent relative sliding therebetween and relative separation therebetween in a direction generally perpendicular to the direction of the relative sliding includes a first locking feature () defined by a stud () with a stem portion () and a flange portion () having a larger profile than the stem portion () and a second locking feature () defined by a slot () with a receiver portion () and a retention portion (). The receiver portion () is sized to accommodate the flange portion () of the stud () and the retention portion () is sized to accommodate the stem portion () but not the flange portion () of the stud (). A third locking feature () prevents relative sliding between the two pieces of telecommunications equipment () once the stud stem portion () has been slid within the slot retention portion () and the stud flange portion () is out of alignment with the slot receiver portion ().

Mounting system for telecommunications distribution elements

An optical fiber distribution element () includes a chassis (), an optical device () mounted to the chassis (), the optical device () including a plurality of cables () extending from the optical device () into the chassis (), and a cable management device () mounted to the chassis (). The cable management device () includes a plurality of radius limiters in the form of spools () in a stacked arrangement for managing the cables () extending from the optical device () for further connection within the chassis (), wherein a first of the spools () defines a spool wall () having a different wall length than that of a second of the spools (), wherein a first of the plurality of cables () is routed around the first of the spools () and a second of the plurality of cables () is routed around the second of the spools () that has a different spool wall length than that of the first of the spools ().

A cable mount for fixing a strength member of a fiber optic cable to a fixture includes a front end, a rear end, and a longitudinal channel therebetween, the channel defined by upper and lower transverse walls and a vertical divider wall. The channel receives a portion of the cable. A strength member pocket receives the strength member of the cable, the pocket located on an opposite side of the divider wall from the longitudinal channel, the pocket communicating with the longitudinal channel through an opening on the divider wall. A strength member clamp fixes the strength member of the cable against axial pull. Cable management structures in the form of spools define at least one notch that communicates with the longitudinal channel for guiding optical fibers extending from a jacket either upwardly or downwardly therethrough. The cable mount also allows routing of the optical fibers through the longitudinal channel all the way from the rear end to the front end.

A universal mounting mechanism for mounting a telecommunications chassis to a telecommunications fixture includes a mounting bracket defining a rear portion for mounting to the fixture and a front portion for slidably receiving the chassis, the front portion including a latch opening. A locking spring is configured for mounting to the chassis, the spring configured to flex laterally to snap in to the latch opening. A release handle is configured to be slidably mounted to the chassis, the release handle defining a deflection tab for moving the locking spring out of the latch opening when the handle is slid rearward to forward. A cover is configured to be mounted to the chassis, the cover defining a deflection ramp for interacting with the deflection tab of the handle to move the deflection tab laterally to contact the spring when the release handle is slid.

Universal mounting mechanism for mounting a telecommunications chassis to a telecommunications fixture

A cable management arrangement () is disclosed. In one aspect, a plurality of cables () extending between first and second ends is provided. The arrangement () can also include a supporting sheet () having a first side and a second side, wherein the plurality of cables () is removably adhered to the supporting sheet first side by a first adhesive (). A second adhesive () can be provided on at least a portion of the supporting sheet second side and a protection sheet () can be provided to cover the second adhesive (). A protection sheet () can be provided that is removable from the supporting sheet () to allow the supporting sheet () to be adhered to a surface. A telecommunications arrangement is also disclosed in which the aforementioned cable management arrangement () is mounted to a telecommunications tray () via the second adhesive ().

Cable management arrangement

A telecommunications panel assembly () includes a chassis () defining a front (), a top (), a bottom (), and two sides () and a plurality of adapter mounting modules () mounted to the chassis () at the front (), each adapter mounting module () including a plurality of fiber optic adapters () mounted in a line. At least one of the adapter mounting modules () is mounted to the chassis () with a pair of supports () that are pivotable with respect to the at least one adapter module () such that the at least one adapter module () is removable from the chassis () and remountable at a position spaced linearly apart from another of the adapter mounting modules (), wherein all of the adapter mounting modules () are also pivotally mounted about horizontal rotation axes () extending parallel to the top () and bottom () and transversely to the sides ().
