A heat source unit for an air conditioner that includes a refrigerant circuit includes: an external housing; a cooling heat exchanger disposed in the external housing and that is connected to the refrigerant circuit; a controller that controls the valve; and a first temperature sensor disposed within the external housing. The external housing accommodates: a compressor connected to the refrigerant circuit; a heat source heat exchanger that is connected to the refrigerant circuit and that exchanges heat between a refrigerant circulating in the refrigerant circuit and a heat source; and an electric box. The electric box includes a top and a plurality of side walls; accommodates electrical components that control the air conditioner; and further includes an air passage that comprises an air inlet and an air outlet.

Heat source unit and air conditioner having the heat source unit

A heat source unit for an air conditioner that includes a refrigerant circuit, the heat source unit includes: an external housing; and a cooling heat exchanger disposed in the external housing and that is connected to the refrigerant circuit. The external housing accommodates: a compressor connected to the refrigerant circuit; a heat source heat exchanger that is connected to the refrigerant circuit and that exchanges heat between a refrigerant circulating in the refrigerant circuit and a heat source; and an electric box. The electrical box: includes a top and a plurality of side walls; accommodates electrical components that control the air conditioner; and further includes an air passage that includes an air inlet and an air outlet. An air flow is induced through the air passage from the air inlet to the air outlet for cooling at least some of the electrical components.

A heat source unit for an air conditioner that includes a refrigerant circuit includes: an external housing; and a cooling heat exchanger that is disposed in the external housing and that is connected to the refrigerant circuit. A set for assembling a heat source unit of an air conditioner at the site of the air conditioner, includes a heat source heat exchanger module having a first casing, a heat source heat exchanger and a compressor module port fluidly communicated with the heat source heat exchanger, a compressor module having a second casing separate from the first casing, a compressor and a heat source heat exchanger module port fluidly communicated with the compressor, wherein the heat source heat exchanger module and the compressor module are fluidly communicatable via the compressor module port and the heat source heat exchanger port, a main board comprising a control logic of the air conditioner and a first electric connector, wherein at least one of heat source heat exchanger and compressor modules has a circuit board comprising a second electric connector, the circuit board of such a module being configured for data communication with the main board upon electrical connection of the circuit board and the main board via the first and second connectors. Further, a method for assembling a heat source unit of an air conditioner at the site of the air conditioner uses such a set.

Set and method for assembling a heat source unit

Air conditioner for conditioning a space inside a building includes a heat source unit and at least one indoor unit. The heat source unit has a heat exchanger unit and a compressor unit. The heat exchanger unit includes a first heat exchanger disposed in a first casing and configured to exchange heat with a heat source. The compressor unit includes a compressor disposed in a second casing separate from the first casing, the heat exchanger unit and the compressor unit being fluidly connected via a first liquid refrigerant pipe and a first gaseous refrigerant pipe. At least one indoor unit has a second heat exchanger configured to exchange heat with the space to be conditioned and being fluidly communicated to the heat exchanger unit and/or the compressor unit via a second liquid refrigerant pipe and a second gaseous refrigerant pipe. The outer diameter of the first liquid refrigerant pipe is larger than the outer diameter of the second liquid refrigerant pipe and/or the outer diameter of the first gaseous refrigerant pipe is larger than the outer diameter of the second gaseous refrigerant pipe.
