The invention relates to a polyamide composition comprising: a. A semi-crystalline polyamide; b. An impact modifier in an amount ranging from 1 wt % to 50 wt %; c. A branching agent in an amount ranging from 0.01 to 6.0 wt %; d. An inorganic stabilizer in an amount ranging from 0.01 wt % to 2.0 wt %; e. An organic stabilizer E1 comprising a primary antioxidant group in an amount ranging from 0.01 wt % to 2.0 wt and an organic stabilizer E2 comprising a hindered amine group in an amount ranging from 0.01 wt % to 4.0 wt %; or an organic stabilizer E3 comprising a primary antioxidant group and a hindered amine group in an amount ranging from 0.02 to 6.0 wt %; or a combination of E1, E2 and E3 in a total amount of 0.02 to 6.0 wt %; wherein all wt % are based on the total amount of polyamide composition. The invention also relates to a process for preparing a container by blow molding this composition, as well as use of the container in various applications.

Bicerano, Prediction of Polymer Properties, Marcel Dekker, 3rd Ed, 2002, ISBN 0-8247-0821-0; Chapter 5, and in which the E-modulus of the composition as measured according to method ISO 527-1 at 200&#xb0; C. is at least 50 MPa. The invention also relates to personal care devices and hair-straighteners comprising this polymer composition.

The present invention relates to a high-heat-delivery device suitable for use in an hair straightener, a hair curling iron or an ironing apparatus and suitable for heat transfer to a substrate by direct contact with said substrate, comprising at least one element (A) having a heat transfer contact surface area and at least one element (B) having a heat transfer contact surface, wherein the element (A) comprises a thermoconductive thermoplastic polymer composition comprising at least one polymer and a thermoconductive additive and wherein element (B) comprises a thermoplastic polymer composition comprising a polymer and at least one thermo-releasable substance. Further, the present invention relates to a method for releasing a thermo-releasable substance. Furthermore, the present invention relates to an ironing apparatus, a hair straightener and a hair curling iron comprising the high-heat delivery device.

The invention relates to a process for producing an (ultra) high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) article comprising:&#x2014;incorporating into the HMWPE resin a Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer (HALS) and&#x2014;cross-link the (U)HMWPE during or after molding the (U)HMWPE resin. Sheet that has a moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) of at least 100 g/m&#xb7;day measured according to ISO 12572B at 1 bar, 23&#xb0; C. and 85% relative humidity and that contains a film of a polymer composition containing a polar thermoplastic elastomer, a hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) and or a UV absorber and an aromatic amine radical scavenger. Non-fibrous-reinforced thermoplastic molding compositions comprising a metal powder as a heat stabilizer are provided. The metal powder has a weight average particle size (dm) of at most 1 mm and the metal in the metal powder is selected from the group consisting of elementary metals from Group VB, VIB, VIIB and VIIIB of the Periodic Table, and mixtures thereof. A thermoplastic polyamide is also provided with an Mw of at most 50,000 g/mol, or a blend of at least two thermoplastic polymers with Tmelt or Tg differing by at least 20&#xb0; C., or a second thermostabilizer. The invention also relates to the use of these compositions in high temperature applications.

Heat stabilized moulding composition

A thermostabilized thermoplastic molding composition includes a) a thermoplastic polyamide composition which consists of a blend of at least two polyamides. The at least two polyamides include a1) at least 50 mass %, relative to the total mass of the thermoplastic polyamide composition, of a first polyamide (PA-1) selected from the group consisting of polyamide-4,6, polyamide-6,6 and semi-aromatic polyamides and mixtures thereof; and a2) an amount of 1-50 mass %, relative to the total mass of the thermoplastic polyamide composition, of a second polyamide (PA-2) selected from the group consisting of polyamide-6 and copolymers thereof. The composition also contains b) 0.001-3 mass %, relative to the total mass of the thermoplastic polyamide composition, of a copper salt; and c) 0.01-10 mass %, relative to the total mass of the thermoplastic polyamide composition, of iron oxide. The molding composition exhibits reduced deterioration when exposed to an elevated temperature of 230&#xb0; C. for a prolonged time period of 1000 hours as compared to an identical molding composition including a Cul/KI stabilization system but not including the iron oxide.

The invention relates to a thermostabilized thermoplastic molding composition comprising (a) a thermoplastic polyamide composition, consisting of a blend of at least two polyamides comprising (a.1) at least 50% mass, relative to the total mass of the thermoplastic polyamide composition, of a first polyamide (PA-1), being a semi-crystalline polyamide having a melting point Tm-1, or being an amorphous polyamide having a glass transition point Tg-1, wherein Tm-1 and Tg-1 together are denoted as T-1 and T-1 is at least 200&#xb0; C. and (a.2) a second polyamide (PA-2), with a C/N ratio of at most 7, being a semi-crystalline polyamide having a melting point Tm-2 or an amorphous polyamide having a glass transition point Tg-2, wherein Tm-2 and Tg-2 together are denoted as T-2 and T-2 is at least 20&#xb0; C. lower than T-1, (b) a stabilizing system comprising a thermostabilizer selected from the group consisting of phenolic thermostabilizers, organic phosphites, aromatic amines, metal salts of elements from Group IB, MB, III and IV of the Periodic Table and metal halides of alkali and alkali earth metals, and combinations thereof, and (c) a metal oxide, or salt thereof, of a transition metal element from Group VB, VIIB, VIIB and VIIIB of the Periodic Table, or a mixture thereof.

Composition with a polymer and an oxidation-catalyst

The invention is directed to a thermosetting powder paint composition comprising a thermosetting amorphous polyamide. The amorphous polyamide has a glass transition temperature between 20&#xb0; C. and 200&#xb0; C. The polyamide may be a carboxyl-, a hydroxyl- or an amine functional polyamide. A carboxyl functional polyamide has an acid number between 10 and 150 mg of KOH/gram of resin. The invention also relates to a thermosetting powder paint composition comprising a thermosetting amorphous polyamide and an additive comprising a copper halogenide and another halogenide. The invention further relates to a process for coating a substrate at low temperature cure (LTC) conditions and a composition suitable for LTC.
