A method for generating decks of sheet elements () comprises the steps of positioning a set of numerous sheet elements () onto a transport surface of a transport device () to partly overlap in transport direction (T). The set of overlapping sheet elements () is moved against a stop member (). The stop member () is moved in the transport direction (T) with a lower velocity than a velocity of the transport surface. By maintaining displacement of sheet elements () which are not yet contacting stop member () all sheet elements are shifted towards stop member () to define a deck. The method is carried out by a corresponding device.

A doctor blade system intended for a print unit includes a doctor blade support provided with a blade, an edge of the blade is able to come into contact with a peripheral surface of an engraved printing cylinder, a supporting hub, on which the doctor blade support is mounted, a structure fixing the supporting hub to a frame of the print unit. Apparatus provides a reciprocating motion of the blade along the peripheral surface of the engraved cylinder roughly parallel to the axis of revolution of the engraved cylinder. Thrust elements drive movement of the blade along the direction of the peripheral surface of the engraved cylinder. The reciprocating apparatus directly drives the doctor blade support. The thrust element or elements move the supporting hub and the doctor blade support and the blade to maintain a constant contact over the entire length of the edge of the blade with the peripheral surface of the engraved cylinder.

A device for stacking sheets delivered on a first conveyor in a plurality of parallel streams of overlapping sheets, includes a second conveyor moving slower than the first conveyor that compacts the streams as they exit the first conveyor; a third conveyor that receives the streams from the second conveyor; and a plurality of stackers, each aligned with one of the streams exiting the third conveyor, formed of endless belts positionable horizontally which cooperate with stop members to stack the incoming sheets. Completed stacks are then moved downstream on the belt. When sheets in a stream are determined to be defective; its belt for that stream is tilted, and the stream falls onto a fourth conveyor for disposal. A spacer introduces spacing into each stream to delineate portions of the streams which will form successive stacks, includes adjusting devices that lengthen and shorten the second and third conveyors, and a device selectively operable to stop passage of the streams from the second conveyor to the third conveyor. The adjusting devices are coupled to simultaneously lengthen one of the conveyors and to shorten the other conveyor. A drive mechanism for the third conveyor moves the third conveyor at the same speed as the second conveyor receiving the streams from the second conveyor, and faster than the second conveyor when delineated portions of the streams are being delivered to the stackers.

Delivery and ejection device for flat elements into a machine working them

A mechanism for moving two alignment devices having vertical parallel faces for identical flat workpieces such as cardboard blanks, simultaneously in opposite directions. The mechanism includes two reciprocating slides that simultaneously drive the alignment devices in opposite directions. The slides are operated by an articulated mechanism including a pair of extension arms and a drive cradle attached to an oscillating shaft. Actuate projections on the drive cradle engage rotationally with complementary arcuate surfaces on coupling mechanisms, preferably formed of a plastic material such as PETP, attached to the extension arms as the shaft oscillates. Compression springs bias the extension arms and the associated coupling mechanisms against the projections to eliminate the effect of wear in the mechanism.
