An articulated vehicle includes a rear frame and a front frame linked by an articulation associated with the device for removably locking controlled by a pendular member mounted oscillating on the front frame between a median position for unlocking the articulation and a spaced apart position for locking the articulation, at least when the vehicle is stopped. The vehicle comprises elements for controlling the unlocking of the articulation, at least during start-up, including an auxiliary platform integral in rotation with the rear frame and comprising, at least, two footrests arranged at substantially the same level relative to the ground, on either side of the articulation axis and constituting each, on the side towards which the front frame is inclined, a support for the front frame to be set upright by the vehicle driver, the pendular member returning to its median position for unlocking the articulation.

Articulated vehicle

The invention concerns an articulated vehicle comprising a rear frame () and a front frame () linked by an articulation () associated with the device () for removably locking controlled by a pendular member () mounted oscillating on the front frame () between a median position for unlocking the articulation and a spaced apart position for locking the articulation, at least when the vehicle is stopped. The vehicle comprises means () for controlling the unlocking of the articulation, at least during start-up, including an auxiliary platform () integral in rotation with the rear frame () and comprising, at least, two footrests () arranged at substantially the same level relative to the ground, on either side of the axis (x'x) of the articulation () and constituting each, on the side towards which the front frame () is inclined, a support for said front frame () to be set upright by the vehicle driver, the pendular member () returning to its median position for unlocking the articulation.

It comprises a guidance structure (3) for segments (4) displaceable in accordance with the setting of the rods (7), which are advantageously symmetrically extended with respect to a pivot (9) and carrying an opposite counterweight. The segments (4) are circular arcs in order to ensure a good adhesion of the belt. Advantageously the counterweights are segments (42), which makes it possible to obtain a double pulley formed from two coaxial pulleys, whose diameters vary in opposite directions. The invention relates to continuous transport apparatus whose transport speed is variable. The embodiment illustrated is a moving walkway in which the load-bearing members are plates, adjacent plates overlapping to present a continuous surface. The load-bearing members are mounted on respective supports and the variation in speed is obtained by varying the spacing between adjacent supports. The supports are connected by a flexible link, which is a chain or belt in the preferred embodiment. The link passes round angle-changing members such as pulley or pinion wheels which are mounted slidably on the supports for movement perpendicular to the track, so that the spacing between the angle-changing members on a given support perpendicular to the track controls the spacing along the track between the support and the adjacent support to which it is connected by the flexible link, the positions of the angle-changing members being controlled by guide rails extending along the track, whose spacing thus defines the transport speed in the corresponding zone of the track. In accordance with the invention, the adjacent supports are also connected by a further link which, in the described embodiments comprises a scissors having rigid arms so that at the maximum speed, where the spacing between the supports is maximum, the scissors is at its maximum opening and the flexible link is slackened and the scissors takes the strain.

Continuous variable-speed transport apparatus

The chain has a single direction of curvature and is capable of passing over pinions of small diameter. This chain is made up of a classic chain comprising at regular intervals a link to which is fixed a block having at least two rectilinear coplanar faces and tangent to the pins of the links and each extending over a length equal to the interval respectively from one part to the other of the link. An application of this chain consists in a variable speed handrail.

A lockable articulation for permitting relative angular rotation between a first and a second part, such for example as the body of a three-wheeled vehicle and the rear axle of the vehicle, said articulation comprising a hollow cylindrical drum centered and mounted on one part, e.g. the axle, two cylindrical sector-shaped jaws arranged inside the drum for contacting the inner surface of the drum and with their ends facing each other, at least two facing ends defining dihedral surfaces whose angle is outwardly opening, and means coupled to the other part, e.g. the vehicle body, for spreading the jaws apart into frictional engagement with the drum to lock the other part against rotation relative to the one part, said means including a roller interposed between the drum wall and the dihedral surface of the jaws and a knee lever having two-pivotally connected links one of which is pivotted on the other part and the other of which rotatably supports the roller.
