Device for generating three-dimensional images and associated heads-up display

The invention relates to a display () comprising&#x2014;a casing (), &#x2014;an image generation unit (), and&#x2014;a light sensor (), disposed in the interior (INT) of said casing (), suitable for delivering a signal representative of a light intensity received by same, the display () being adapted such that the luminosity of an image generated by the image generation unit () is controlled as a function of said signal. According to the invention, the display () further comprises a light guide () situated in the interior (INT) of the casing () of the display (), having an inlet face () and being shaped to collect at the input face () of same a light ray coming from outside the casing () of the display, and for guiding said light ray to said sensor ().

Display comprising a light sensor

The invention relates to an active screen (), i.e. to a light-emitting screen, comprising a matrix array of modules () that each form one pixel, and a matrix array () of control elements that are intended to address each of these modules, respectively. According to the invention, each module comprises at least three light-emitting submodules () that each include a three-dimensional light-emitting structure (), and each control element is intended to individually address each submodule. A head-up display () comprising such a screen (), and a device () for projecting images, said device being suitable for transmitting, in the direction of a semitransparent mirror () the images generated by said screen, is also described.

An image generating device () comprises a liquid-crystal screen () and a light source (). The liquid-crystal screen () comprises a matrix of liquid crystals interposed between an input polariser and an output polariser. The image generating device () comprises a first additional polariser () located on the light path, upstream of said liquid-crystal screen (), and a second additional polariser () located on the light path, downstream of said liquid-crystal screen (). The invention relates to an image generating device (), comprising: &#x2014;a light source (), &#x2014;a light modulator () or a diffuser adapted to display an image on an output face side, and&#x2014;an auto-stereoscopic filter () of which an input face is turned towards the output face of the light modulator or the diffuser. According to the invention, the auto-stereoscopic filter extends opposite only a portion of the output face, and an image plane offset panel () is provided, which is located only opposite the remaining portion of the output face.

A compact head-up display for a vehicle includes: an image generator that displays an image on a display surface, and a semi-reflecting optical element, arranged at a distance from the image generator, that forms, on a first side of the optical element, a virtual image. The virtual image is visible from a viewing window on a second side of the optical element. The display includes an optical component that lengthens the optical path of the image passing from the image generator to the optical element. The optical component includes one entry face and one exit face, and a first reflecting face and a second reflecting face. The first reflecting face reflects the image from the entry face toward the second reflecting face. The second reflecting face reflects the image from the first reflecting face toward the exit face. The entry face is in contact with the display surface.
