An anchor assembly (A) for hollow walls comprises an anchor body () and a toggle member () that is displaceable between a first position wherein the toggle member () is substantially aligned with the anchor body () such that the anchor assembly (A) can be inserted in the wall (W) via a cutting distal end () of the toggle member (), and a second position wherein the toggle member () extends behind the wall (W) at an angle relative to the anchor body () which extends through the wall (W). The toggle member () is held captive in the first position but is released and then rotated to the second position by a fastener () introduced in the anchor body (). The fastener () threadably engages the toggle member () thereby drawing the toggle member () against a hidden side of the wall (W).

Anchor assembly with toggle for hollow walls

An anchor assembly for walls comprises a toggle member and a strap member pivotally mounted together, and a locking member. In a first position, the toggle member is aligned with the strap member for insertion through the wall, whereas in a second position, the toggle member extends behind the wall at an angle relative to the strap member which extends from the toggle member through the hole in the wall. The locking member is adapted to be displaced along the strap member until it engages the wall and to be locked on the strap member. Therefore, the locking member and the toggle member are connected by the strap member and imprison the wall by abutting respectively the visible and hidden sides thereof. A fastener introduced through the locking member and the wall threadably engages an opening defined in the toggle member.

Wall anchor

An anchor () for mounting to a hollow wall (W) made of friable material comprises a proximal flanged end () adapted to be engaged by a rotatable tool (B) to rotate the anchor () about a longitudinal axis (A) thereof and to cause is to gradually engage the wall (W). The anchor () also includes a distal end () adapted to cut through the wall (W) as the anchor () is rotated, and a shank () extending between the proximal and distal ends (). The shank () includes at least one expandable leg () that is in a collapsed position thereof when the anchor () is rotated to mount it to the wall (W) and that is located distally beyond a non visible surface of the wall (W) once the anchor () has been mounted to the wall and is in a first position thereof. The wall anchor () includes an outer thread () that securely engages the wall (W). A threaded fastener (B), e.g. a screw, is adapted to be introduced in the anchor () and to threadably engage the same distally of the leg () such that sufficient rotation of the threaded fastener (B) retracts the distal end () towards the proximal end () thereby causing the leg () to displace to a laterally expanded position thereof and to engage the non visible surface of the wall (W).

Anchor for hollow walls

An anchor assembly for use with hollow panels, comprises a holding member, such as a hook, and an anchor. The anchor is adapted to penetrate a hollow panel, such as a wall, and, once the anchor assembly has been installed to the wall, the anchor is firmly secured thereto while the hook, which is joined to the anchor, is located on a visible side of the wall. The anchor includes a first anchor portion and a second vice portion. The anchor portion, when the anchor assembly is installed to the wall, extends through the hole defined in the wall while the vice portion is located behind the wall. An elbow portion is provided on the anchor between the anchor and vice portions for allowing the anchor to be pivoted when being installed in the wall from a first position where the vice portion is inserted though the wall to form the hole therein and a second position where the vice portion extends behind the wall and in abutment therewith and the anchor portion is lodged in the hole.

Wall-mounted hook

An anchoring device for insertion in a hole provided in a structure such as a wall (hollow or solid) comprises proximal and distal sections. The proximal section includes a head defining an aperture for receiving a fastener, and the distal section includes a pair of expandable wings displaceable between collapsed and expanded positions. Each wing is biased towards its expanded position such that the wings can engage the structural material delimiting the hole or a distal surface of the structure. The distal section comprises, proximally of the wings, a variable-length flexible portion for allowing the wings to engage the distal surface of the structure for various structure thicknesses. The distal section comprises, distally of the wings, a tip section adapted to spread outwardly when engaged by the fastener. The proximal section comprises a pair of legs each having a toothed rack for engaging the structural material.

Plastic anchor for drywall, plaster, brick and concrete

An anchor assembly for walls comprises a toggle member and a strap member pivotally mounted together, and a locking member. In a first position, the toggle member is aligned with the strap member for insertion through a hole in the wall, whereas in a second position, the toggle member extends behind the wall angularly to the strap member which extends from the toggle member through the hole. The locking member is adapted to be displaced along the strap member until it engages the wall and to be locked on the strap member to prevent the locking member from displacing away from the toggle member. Therefore, the locking member and the toggle member are connected by the strap member and imprison the wall by abutting respectively the visible and hidden sides thereof. A fastener introduced through the locking member and wall threadably engages an opening defined in the toggle member.

An anchoring system for use with hollow panels, comprises an anchor member and a separate fixture, which are adapted to be mounted together. The anchor member includes an elongated element, such as a wire, adapted to be inserted into and partly through a hollow panel, such as a wall, and to bear against a rear surface of the panel. The fixture is adapted to bear against a front surface of the panel for securing the anchoring system to the panel.

Hanger for hollow walls

A device (H) to be mounted to a friable wall (W) comprises a body () and at least one main saber tooth () extending rearwardly from an upper portion of the body () and adapted to be driven into the wall (W) for securing the device (H) thereto. The main saber tooth () is arcuate and has a pointed rear free end (), and is adapted to be arcuately driven into the wall (W). An arcuate and pointy secondary saber tooth () extends rearwardly from a lower portion of the body () for insertion into the wall (W) before the main saber tooth () is inserted therein. The main saber tooth () defines a lower enlarged, and typically flat, load-bearing surface () for bearing against material of the wall (W). The main saber tooth () includes an upper transversely curved surface (). A hook member () is provided on a front part of the body () for suspending items therefrom once the device (H) has been mounted to the wall (W).

A convertible anchor (H) for friable walls (W) comprises a fixture () for holding an article to a wall (W, M) and an anchoring mechanism () extending from the fixture (). The anchoring mechanism () is adapted when rotated to engagingly extend into a friable wall (W) for securing the fixture () to the wail (W). The fixture () is selectively separable via frangible connection elements () from the anchoring mechanism () for allowing the fixture () to be used alone with an appropriate fastener (S) suitable for installing the fixture () to a rigid structure (M), such as wooden components. The anchoring mechanism () can take different forms as long as it is can be mounted to a friable wall (W). Typically, a space () is defined between the fixture () and a proximal end () of the anchoring mechanism () with this space () being bridged by the frangible connection elements (). The fixture () defines an opening () adapted to be engaged by a screwdriver bit (B) for mounting the anchor (H) to the wall (W, M). The method calls for determining the nature of the vertical support to which the anchor (H) is to be mounted and then, for a friable wall (W), installing the anchor (H) thereto using the anchoring mechanism (); or, for a more solid vertical support (M) such a wood, separating the fixture () from the anchoring mechanism () and installing the fixture () to the solid vertical support (M) via an appropriate fastener (S).
