A crystallographically textured metallic substrate includes surfaces for connection and for receiving a thin layer deposit, and is made up of an alloy presenting a cubic crystalline system with centered faces and a predominantly cubic crystallographic texture {100}&#x3c;001&#x3e;, the receiving surface including grains mainly presenting crystallographic planes {100} parallel to the receiving surface. The alloy is iron-nickel with weight % relative to total weight: Ni&#x2267;30%, Cu&#x2266;15%, Cr&#x2266;15%, Co&#x2266;12%, Mn&#x2266;5%, S&#x3c;0.0007%, P&#x3c;0.003%, B&#x3c;0.0005%, Pb&#x3c;0.0001%, and in the alloy: 34%&#x2266;(Ni+Cr+Cu/2+Co/2+Mn). The alloy includes up to 1% in weight of one or several deoxidizing elements chosen among silicon, magnesium, aluminium and calcium, the rest of the elements in the alloy being iron and impurities.

The invention concerns an iron-nickel alloy strip comprising the following expressed in wt. %: 32&#x2266;Co+Ni&#x2266;45%, 0&#x2266;Co&#x2266;6.5%, 0&#x2266;Cr=6.5%, Cu&#x2266;3%, Si&#x2266;0.5%, Mn&#x2266;0.75%, the rest being made up of iron and unavoidable impurities resulting from production, whereof the microstructure has a recrystallized volume fraction ranging from 3 to 97%, whereof the thickness is less than 0.5 mm. The invention also concerns the use thereof in the manufacture of support grids for integrated circuits.

A method of making a Fe-Ni strip whose chemical composition comprises, by weight: 36% &lE;Ni&plus;Co&lE;43%; 0%&lE;Co&lE;3%; 0.05%&lE;C&lE;0.4%; 0.2%&lE;Cr&lE;1.5%; 0.4%&lE;Mo&lE;3%; Cu&lE;3%; Si&lE;0.3%, Mn&lE;0.3%; the rest being iron and impurities, the alloy having an elastic limit Rp0.2 more than 750 Mpa and a distributed elongation Ar more than 5%. The alloy is optionally recast under slag. The strip is obtained by hot-rolling above 950&deg; C., then cold-rolling and carrying out a hardening treatment between 450&deg; C. and 850&deg; C., the hardening heat treatment being preceded by a reduction of at least 40%. The invention is useful for making integrated circuit support grids and electronic gun grids.
