The present invention relates to a method for securing a radio communication link establishment in a radio communication network comprising a local network and a secured network. The local network comprises at least a first terminal and a second terminal and at least the first terminal is capable of communicating with the secured network. The radio communication network implements layered protocol functions, comprising at least Layers 1, 2 and 3, the terminals being identifiable by their Layer 2 and 3 addresses. The secured network comprises a database comprising address correspondence information between Layer 2 and 3 addresses of terminals. In the method the first terminal authenticates itself with the secured network and then by using the Layer 3 address of the second terminal, obtaining the address correspondence information provided by the database and thereby determining the corresponding Layer 2 address of the second terminal. Then the first terminal establishes in the local network the radio communication link with the second terminal by using the Layer 2 address.

Address spoofing prevention

A mobile first terminal () has a call in progress with a second terminal () under a first communications service via a base station () of the access network of a first subsystem. A condition for transferring the call to a base station () of the radio access network of a second subsystem is detected in a radio network controller () of the first subsystem. A core network switch () which is linked to the radio network controller () of the first subsystem is informed of said detection of a call transfer condition. If the second subsystem cannot process the call under the first communications service, a service change is requested so that said call can continue under the second communications service.

The invention concerns a communication system comprising a radio unit, several terminal facilities and a local administration server. The invention concerns the dynamic reservation of resources according to the RSVP protocol for transmitting an application flow in the form of first packets between a radio terminal and a remote unit interconnected via a first IP network and a cellular radio communication system. Communication systems and methods are provided allowing a single mode mobile terminal to support mobile assisted signal strength measurement operations in both a fixed frequency reuse based communication network and an adaptive channel allocation based communication network. Candidate base station signal strength measurements are requested by a fixed frequency reuse type network, measured by the mobile terminal and provided to the fixed frequency reuse type network which is seeking to identify a strongest signal for mobile assisted handover operations. In addition, interference signal strength measurements are requested by an adaptive channel allocation type network, measured by the mobile terminal and provided to the adaptive channel allocation type network by the mobile terminal. No redundant circuitry is required in the mobile terminal. Instead, the mobile terminal executes the same operations using the same hardware regardless of whether the requested measurement is of a candidate signal strength or an interference signal.

System and method for message redirection between mobile telecommunication networks with different radio access technologies

A request to access the network sent by a terminal is intercepted and a selective restriction criterion is evaluated on the basis of parameters relating to the intercepted access request. A radio signal is sent to jam an acknowledgment signal sent by the network in response to the access request if the selective restriction criterion is satisfied.

Method of restricting the use of a radio terminal and an associated restriction device

The invention concerns a method wherein a radio link control stage processes separately first data units containing information items of a specific type and second data units not containing information items of said type. A control stage for access to the media delivers the first data units through a first dedicated transport channel and the second data units through a second dedicated transport channel. The data units delivered through said dedicated transport channels are supplied to an encoding and multiplexing stage to form at least a train of symbols relative to a dedicated physical channel and supplied to a radio transmission stage. The encoding and multiplexing stage and/or the radio transmission stage ensure greater protection against noise through the first dedicated transport channel than through the second dedicated transport channel.
