A calendering roller used to manufacture textured nonwoven fabric including papermaking fibers is disclosed. The calendering roller includes a positive pattern that includes a basic element having a ring shape and a repetition of said basic element along multiple rows and columns substantially overall a peripheral surface of the calendaring roller. The ring defines an apex relatively to a center portion of the ring defining a cavity and a grinded surrounding zone. The ring includes at least one radial channel putting in communication the cavity and the grinded surrounding zone so as to define a discontinuous calendering surface. The repetition is regular except for multiple substantially longitudinally and transversally oriented regions. The regions are of limited size with respect to a calendering roller size and randomly distributed so as to define multiple random longitudinal and transverse lines in the textured nonwoven fabric including papermaking fibers, generating a cloth-like visual texture.

A core has a cylindrical wall that can be torn axially and is made up of two superposed strips, these strips respectively being an outer strip in contact with the product and an inner strip, these strips being wound on one another and joined together by regions of attachment for example by bonding. At least one of the longitudinal edges of the inner strip is not attached or is weakly attached over a determined width in order, over at least part of its helical length, to form a free and accessible tab facing the outer strip.

A roll of sheet product, in particular of tissue paper, with a central hole along its winding axis includes a cylindrical reinforcing element onto which the paper is wound. The reinforcing element includes at least one ring joined to the innermost turn of the roll, with a width less than the width of the roll and provided with a means of extracting the ring by pulling substantially along the axis of the roll.

The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a web of sheet product, with a discontinuous perforation arrangement such that manufacture of a web of sheet product provides for an increase in the breaking strength of the web of sheet product while feeding the web in a machine direction, thereby reducing the risk of breaking and maintaining the yield and throughput of the production of the perforated web as an intermediate product, yet providing a low breaking force for individual strips produced from the web.

This invention relates to a sheet of paper made up of at least two plies of creped tissue paper, an upper ply and a lower ply, each of a surface measure ranging from 10 to 40 g/m, the upper ply being embossed and provided with first protuberances. It is characterized in that such first protuberances are divided into rows which between them delimit cells of an area ranging from 1 to 20 cm, the upper ply being longer in the direction of advance than the lower ply by at least 0.6% and joined to it by the apex of the first protuberances so that cushions are formed inside the cells.

The sheet of tissue paper includes at least one first embossed zone (A, A) having protrusions on a surface corresponding to alveoles on the other. The alveoles have a substantially polygonal base and the sheet includes at least one second, unembossed zone (B). The invention concerns a method for making a sheet of paper comprising at least two crimped cotton-wool-like cellulose plies (). It consists in: unwinding a first ply () in the form of a strip from a reel, embossing it on an embossing unit () and forming protuberances at its surface, unwinding a second ply () in the form of a strip from a reel, guiding it downstream of the embossing unit (), superposing the two strips, with their protuberances facing inwards, and in applying a linking means () so as to make the two strips integral with each other. Said method is characterised in that immediately upstream of said linking means (), a tension regulating means () is applied in the machine direction on one of the strips, such that the two strips have the same elastic deformation in the machine direction when the linking means is applied. The invention also concerns a product obtained by said method.

Method for making a multiply absorbent paper sheet and resulting product

The invention relates to a roll constituted by a plurality of tissue paper sheets each having a specific surface weight between 10 and 40 g/mand exhibiting thick zones () separated over at least 90% of their periphery by thinner zones (). According to the invention, and as regards at least the outermost turns of the roll, the thick zones are at least partly superposed one on the other in a way to add the thicknesses cumulatively and hence to create height differentials on the roll's outside. The invention also relates to a method for making a roll, wherein a strip composed of a plurality of juxtaposed tissue paper sheets exhibiting thick zones separated by thinner zones will be wound on itself. According to the invention, the winding of the roll is such that the thick zones () of the outermost roll turns are at least partly superposed in order to constitute a salient topography on the roll's outside.

The invention concerns an absorbent paper product with a basic weight ranging from about 20 to 80 g/m comprising an embossed ply including raised designs consisting at least partly of discrete protuberances oriented inwards of the structure and a non-embossed ply. The invention is characterised in that the embossed ply has at least over part of its surface at least 30 protuberances per cm whereof the top surface area is less than 1 mm preferably less than 0.7 mm .

Method for making an absorbent structure

The compound sheet made of absorbent paper consists of at least two crepe paper sheets with a specific weight between 12 and 30 g/m,. At least one sheet includes a first embossing pattern with bosses pointing inward the compound sheet and having a height of between 0.5 and 2.5 mm, a density of between 3 and 20 bosses per cm,and covering 5 to 60% of the surface. The compound sheet is characterized in that the embossed sheet comprises a second embossing pattern with bosses 0.1 to 0.30 mm high.
