The present invention relates to a medical coupling unit for electrical signal transmission between the medical coupling unit () and a medical sensor () coupled to the medical coupling unit. There is provided a blood pressure monitor for use in measuring the blood pressure of a subject, the blood pressure monitor comprising a cuff that is configured to be placed around a body part of the subject and inflated to apply pressure to the body part; a pressure sensor that is configured to provide measurements of the pressure in the cuff; a plethysmography sensor comprising a coil having one or more windings that is configured to provide an output signal indicating the volume of the body part of the subject and/or changes in the volume of the body part; and a processing unit that is configured to determine the blood pressure of the subject from the measurements of the pressure in the cuff and the measurements of the volume of the body part and/or the changes in the volume of the body part. A device is configured for tracking e.g. the diastolic blood pressure in a patient. The device applies a pressure to a body part, e.g. by use of an inflatable cuff. By performing repeated and alternating pressure changes in the cuff, a specific feature of a signal that relates to the diastolic blood pressure can be tracked and possibly measured. A system for providing feedback regarding chest compressions in CPR, an automated resuscitation device and a method for providing feedback regarding chest compressions in CPR, are based upon a quality measure for cardio pulmonary resuscitation. The system includes a measuring unit, a processor, an indicator unit, and a sensor and display. The measuring unit measures an arterial blood pressure of a patient. The processor calculates a blood pressure CPR quality index based on the measured blood pressure as a function of time. The indicator unit provides an indication of the blood pressure CPR quality indicator. The sensor registers a depth of compression of CPR and the display displays a signal indicating CPR compression depth as a function of time.

An automated cardio pulmonary resuscitation device comprises a front structure with first and second movable unit arranged to move back and forth along said front structure, a compression element for compressing a patient's chest, two arms coupled to the chest pad, one end of each of the arms being coupled to a respective one of the first and second movable units, driving means arranged for, when in operation, driving the first and second movable unit back and forth. An automated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ACPR) device includes a compression element for acting on a compression location on a chest of a patient, and an optical alignment aid configured and arranged for projecting, at least temporarily, a light pattern on the patient's chest. The light pattern projected by the optical alignment aid guides the user during the placement procedure of the ACPR device. The light pattern projected by the optical alignment aid allows the user to monitor whether the position of the automated cardiopulmonary resuscitation device has moved during the administration of CPR.

A method for automated CPR includes controlling a position of a compression element during movement of the compression element from an initial starting position (P) of a first compression cycle to a first compression position (P) corresponding to a first compression depth and back to a rest position of the compression element. The CPR device comprises a front structure with a first and a second movable unit arranged to move back and forth along said front structure; a back support for positioning behind the patient's back arranged to keep the front structure in a fixed position relative to the patient's back; a chest pad; two arms each rotatably coupled to the chest pad with one end and each being rotatably coupled to a respective one of the first and the second movable units; and a motor arranged for, when in operation, driving the first and the second movable units back and forth such that the chest pad cyclically compresses the patient's chest.
