The invention relates to a method for treating water laden with pollutants for the purpose of making the water drinkable, said method including: an elimination step consisting of contacting said water laden with pollutants, within a stirred contact tank (), with an active particulate material () using a predetermined concentration of the active particulate material () in said water; an extraction step consisting of continuously extracting from said contact tank () a mixture consisting of water and of active particulate material (); a separation step consisting of continuously separating said active particulate material () from said mixture. According to the invention, the separation step consists in particular of feeding the mixture of water and active particulate material into a filter drum ().

Method for producing potable water and/or purifying water including the elimination of a target compound and filtration within a filter drum

An ultraviolet wastewater or water treatment system is described and comprises a plurality of ultraviolet lamps where each lamp includes a protective cladding and where the ultraviolet lamps are disposed in vertical modules that form a bank of ultraviolet lamps. A series of beams are disposed over the ultraviolet lamps with each beam supporting a carriage thereon. Each carriage supports a scraper that extends downwardly therefrom for engaging and cleaning a module of ultraviolet lamps. A common drive source is operatively connected to the respective carriages for driving the carriages back and forth on the respective beams such that as the common drive source drives the carriages back and forth, the respective scrapers move back and forth cleaning the protective cladding extending around the respective ultraviolet lamps.

Device for disinfecting water by means of ultraviolet radiation

A method and system is provided for treating wastewater. In one process, wastewater is directed into a treatment tank and biologically treated. The biologically treated wastewater is directed as mixed liquor from the treatment tank to a bottom portion of a downstream filtration tank having at least one submerged membrane module that extends across substantially the entire cross sectional area of the filtration tank mixed liquor is directed from the bottom of the filtration tank upwardly into the membrane module such that substantially all of the mixed liquor received in the bottom of the filtration tank flows through the membrane module. As the mixed liquor flows vertically through the membrane module, the method includes inducing at least some of the mixed liquor through walls of one or more membrane filters that form a part of the membrane module, producing a permeate stream. The remaining mixed liquor passing through and from the membrane module is referred to as a non-permeate stream and the non-permeate stream, or at least a substantial portion thereof, is recirculated to the treatment tank. The filtration tank is sized relative to the membrane module and the process is carried out such that there is no substantial recycle of mixed liquor in the filtration tank itself. Although mixed liquor may be recirculated from the filtration tank back to the treatment tank and then back to the filtration tank and so forth and so on, once the mixed liquor in the filtration tank makes one pass through the membrane module the mixed liquor is recycled back to the treatment tank and generally not permitted to be recycled back through the membrane module without first returning to the treatment tank.

Method and system for treating water and utilizing a membrane filtering system

A water treating device includes a cylindrical housing having a longitudinal axis, an inlet and an outlet. Water to be treated enters the inlet, flows through the cylindrical housing and out the outlet. A plurality of elongated UV lamps are disposed in the cylindrical housing. The UV lamps extend generally in the same direction as the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical housing, but are disposed in a non-parallel relationship with the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical housing. Typically one end portion of each of the UV lamps is spaced outwardly from the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical housing. Along the length of each of the UV lamps, the distance between the longitudinal axis of the UV lamps and the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical housing varies.

A device for disinfecting water by ultraviolet radiation. The device includes two discharged lamps that are connected by electrical wires. A first electrical circuit is disposed in the immediate vicinity of the discharge lamps and controls a warm-up phase of the discharge lamps. A second electrical circuit is disposed remotely from the discharge lamps and functions to control an operational phase of the discharge lamps.

Supply device for ultraviolet lamps used in the treatment of water

An ultraviolet water treatment system is provided for treating water moving through a treatment area in a direction D. The system includes a series of ultraviolet modules disposed in side-by-side relationship in the treatment area. Each module includes an ultraviolet lamp and a pair of vertical supports with one support of each module being deemed an upstream support and one support being deemed a downstream support. The upstream supports of the respective modules are non-aligned and at least two of the upstream supports are staggered in the direction D and lie generally in separate transverse planes with respect to direction D.
