An elastomer composition for curing by organic peroxides, the composition comprising an EPDM, a filler such as carbon black, and an additive such as zinc methacrylate, together with an elastomer grafted with maleic anhydride that reacts with the zinc methacrylate to reinforce the curing of the elastomer. The invention applies in particular to the manufacture of power transmission belts.

A tensioner for a power transmission belt is disclosed comprising a return spring associated mechanically with a tensioner roller with which the belt cooperates for controlling the movement of said roller under the action of said spring, wherein the vibrations likely to arise in the belt are damped by a rubber sheath integral with said spring for forming a chamber closed at its ends by seals, one at least of which has a nozzle for the inlet and/or outlet of air into and/or out of the chamber defined by said sheath and said seals.

Tensioner for a transmission belt

A device for tensioning a power transmission belt which passes over a pulley. The pulley is supported by an arm and by a rotary part which has one end of an elastically-deformable element fixed thereto, the element being wound around the part and having its other end fixed to a fixed point. The element is constituted by a length of flat belt comprising a layer of cord embedded in a strip of elastomer material. The invention is particularly applicable to the car industry and to the domestic appliance industry.

Device for tensioning a power transmission belt

The invention relates to a power transmission belt having a circumferentially ribbed inner surface. According to the invention, the sides (42) of each rib (38) join a small base (40) of the rib via respective convex curved surfaces (44), and the small base (40) of each rib is itself constituted by a concave curved surface. The invention is particularly applicable to transmission belts used in the automobile industry and in household electrical appliances.

In an endless power transmission belt including a matrix made from an elastomer material, advantageously of the rubber type, and a longitudinal reinforcement of twisted cords, the reinforcement is chosen, with respect to its physical tension characteristics and its positioning in the matrix, so that the belt has an overall extension modulus sufficiently low so that it makes it possible to fit the belt, by exerting a tractive force, on the pulleys with which it cooperates and yet keeps a minimum appropriate tension after positioning so as to ensure satisfactory operation of the transmission which it equips.
