The invention relates to a method for preparing a carbon aerogel from agglomerated carbon nanotubes, that comprises the following steps: (A) preparing an aqueous dispersion of carbon nanotubes in water in the presence of a dispersing agent; (B) forming a foam from the nanotubes aqueous dispersion of step (A) by bulking under the action of a gas in the presence of a foaming agent; and (C) freezing the foam obtained in step (B) and removing the water by sublimation. The invention also relates to the carbon aerogels thus obtained, and to their use essentially as partition materials or biomaterials.

The invention relates to a film-boiling densification method for a porous structure (mixed gas-liquid method) () consisting in immersing of the porous structure into a liquid precursor, a hydrocarbon, for example, and heating the system in order to deposit the decomposition product of said liquid precursor, for example carbon, into the pores of the porous structure, characterized in that the flow of the liquid precursor entering the porous structure is reduced, for example by means of a filter () made of polytetrafluorethylene surrounding the structure so as to reduce the vaporization phenomenon of the liquid precursor around the porous structure to be densified.

The invention relates to an electrically conductive, polymer based material with electrical resistivity having a positive temperature coefficient. The material comprises a matrix of thermosetting polymer having conductive particles in the form of fibers distributed through the polymer. The polymer can be an epoxy resin, polyimide, unsaturated polyester, silicone, polyurethane or phenolic resin, and the fibers can be carbon fibers, carbon fibers coated with metal or metal alloy, graphite fibers, graphite fibers coated with metal or metal alloy, graphite intercalation compound fibers, metal fibers, ceramic fibers, or ceramic fibers coated with a metal or metal alloy.

Material having a resistivity with a positive temperature coefficient

The present invention relates to a piezoresistive gauge. This gauge comprises a support, on which are formed two pairs of electrical contacts, partly covered with a piezoresistive element, made from an electricity-conducting organic compound, chosen from among the salts of tetramethyl-tetrathiofulvalene, quaternary ammonium salts of tetracyanoquinodimethane and diethyl-dimethyl-tetrathiofulvalene-tetracyanoquinodimethane (DEDMTTF-TCNQ). This gauge can be used for measuring pressures of approximately 500 bars to a few kbars.
