The present disclosure concerns improvements for a gas-powered fixing tool, and particularly a combustion chamber or precombustion chamber for a gas-powered fixing tool, a working chamber for a gas-powered fixing tool, a fuel gas injection device for a gas-powered fixing tool and a gas-powered fixing tool including one or more of these elements.

For a gas-powered fixing tool

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a gas-powered fastener-driving tool. In one embodiment, the tool includes a combustion or precombustion chamber a valve comprising a body that is mobile within the combustion or precombustion chamber between a first closed position and a second open position. The body defines two opposing orifices at longitudinal ends of the body. The orifices form part of a bore defined through the body that enables gas to pass through the valve. This makes it possible to limit the pressure drops as gas is being admitted to or exhausted from the chamber, thus making it possible to optimize the duration of the firing cycle of the tool.

Combustion chamber for a gas-powered fixing tool

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a fuel cartridge for a gas-powered fastener-driving tool. In one embodiment, the fuel cartridge comprises a body that has a longitudinal axis and that defines an internal fuel storage cavity. The body is shaped and sized to be inserted at least partially into and removed from a housing defined by a case of the tool via translation along the longitudinal axis. The cartridge also includes a connection and fuel dispensing end fitting connected to the body and sized and shaped to engage an end fitting of the tool within the housing. The cartridge also includes a first cam surface extending at least partially around the longitudinal axis and configured to, during relative rotation of the first cam surface and a second cam surface, engage the second cam surface to facilitate removal of the fuel cartridge from the housing.

Various embodiments of the present disclosure provide a gas-powered fixing tool including a working chamber, a piston slidably mounted in the working chamber, a precombustion chamber in which gas combustion is to be initiated, and a combustion chamber between the precombustion chamber and the working chamber. The precombustion and combustion chambers are separated by a flap that is movable between a position in which the precombustion and combustion chambers are in fluid communication and a position these chambers are not in fluid communication. The tool also comprises a combusted gas evacuation valve. The tool also comprises means for fluidic communication between the precombustion and combustion chambers. The means are configured to be activated after a start of displacement of the piston from a rest position to a working position, and before actuation of the valve for evacuation of combusted gas to the outside of the precombustion and/or combustion chamber.

Gas-powered fixing tool and method for operating same

The present disclosure concerns a method and an electronic ignition control device of a combustion chamber of a gas-powered fixing tool designed to optimize the quality of the shooting of fixation elements by the tool. According to the principle of the present disclosure, the triggering of the ignition of the chamber to produce the shot is commanded on the condition that the time between the moment when the user places the tool against a work surface and the moment when he pulls on an actuation trigger of the tool is greater than a predefined delay time, to ensure an optimal filling of the combustion chamber with the combustible gas. According to one embodiment of the present disclosure, the triggering of the ignition is enabled on the supplemental condition that a signal of medium ignition voltage is greater than a trigger threshold voltage.

Method for controlling the actuation of a gas-powered fixing tool and the corresponding device

The tool is to be used for driving fastening members into a supporting material. The fastening apparatus for fastening elements includes a combustion chamber, a housing for a gas cartridge, means for injecting gas from a cartridge into the combustion chamber and a management module. An engine thermistor is provided to be subjected to the temperature of the chamber, as well as a second cartridge thermistor intended to be subjected to the temperature of the gas cartridge disposed in the cartridge housing. Both thermistors are mounted for transmitting their temperature information to the management module. The management module is operable for managing temperature information and determining the opening time of the injection means.

The tool comprises an engine for propelling a piston including a shaft for driving a fastening member into a supporting material and through a pin guide, with means for adjusting the depth of drive of the piston shaft outside the pin guide at the end of the propulsion and at the stop of the piston in abutment against stop means. The pin guide is mounted free in translation and the depth of drive adjusting means comprise an adjustment knurl with a knurl shaft arranged so as to be in abutment against the pin guide and to push the pin guide forwards under the rotation action of the knurl.
