A telecommunications module () comprises at least one pair of contact elements () each extending between opposed sides () of the module and having contacts () at each end to which connections can be made. Each contact element comprises first and second parts (), the first part being resiliently-biased into engagement with the second part at a disconnection point (), and a separating member () is located between the disconnection points of the pair of contact elements. The separating member () is shaped to deflect a probe (), inserted into the module from one of the opposed sides, towards the disconnection point of a selected one of the pair of contact elements to break the engagement between the first and second parts of that contact element.

The present invention relates to a fiber distribution hub. The fiber distribution hub comprises a base case comprising at least one port portion for introducing an optical cable, wherein the optical cable includes a first fiber; a splitter case releasably attached to the base case; a splice tray rotatably hinged to the splitter case; and a cover engagable with the base case to enclose the splitter case and the splice tray. The first fiber is connected to a second fiber in the splice tray, and the second fiber is connected with a splitter in the splitter case to separate the second fiber into a plurality of separate third fibers. Thus, the invention provides a compact and modular fiber distribution hub. In addition, the fiber distribution hub can join optical fibers by mechanical splices, fusion splices and fiber optic connectors in a single unit.

Disclosed is an embedded communication enclosure for housing and supporting communication devices and communication cables, comprising: an enclosure body; a cable connecting member, provided within said enclosure body to connect communication cables, where an input cable from the exterior of the enclosure body is connected to a plurality of distribution cables to be brought out of the enclosure body; and a first door connected with the enclosure body, for opening and closing the front of the enclosure body, said first door comprising a second door embedded therein to provide access to the cable connecting member; wherein said cable connecting member is arranged to correspond to said second door in such a manner that said cable connecting member is exposed to outside when said second door is opened. With the embedded communication enclosure, a two-stage stage operating interface is achieved, so that communication devices and cables housed in the embedded communication enclosure will not be undesirably influenced or accessed during frequently changing and maintaining terminal jumpers.

The present invention discloses a splice holder, which is used for holding at least one splicing sleeve (), each of the splicing sleeves () is used for coupling two optical fibers. The splice holder comprises: a body; a splice channel () provided on the body; and an elastic device () in each splice channel, wherein the elastic device holds the splicing sleeve () elastically in the splice channel. The present invention also includes a communication socket having a splice holder mounted therein. By the splice holder of present invention, optical fiber connection points can be accommodated in a communication socket, so that electrical cables and optical fibers in the communication socket may be managed in an orderly way. Furthermore, inclusion of the inventive splice holder ensures than a minimum bending radius of optical fiber can be maintained when the optical fiber is stored in the communication socket.

A communication socket comprises a housing including a base portion having a bottom wall and a plurality of sidewalls and a cover portion. The base portion and the cover portion are detachably engaged with each other. The base portion includes a plurality of knock-off holes for inserting an optical fiber at different positions in the sidewall and/or a plurality of fiber entries for inserting a fiber through the bottom wall. The fiber-connector-mounting portion extends from the base. Each of the fiber-connector-mounting portion includes a spacer for maintaining a fiber connector at a distance away from the bottom wall, and a space for inserting the fiber between the fiber connector and the bottom wall. The volume of the communication socket can be minimized, the integration thereof can be improved, the fiber can enter the communication socket in all directions while the fiber's bend radius is satisfied, and the management on the fiber and cable in the communication socket is effective.

A re-enterable enclosure for a cable splice includes a first cover member and a second cover member configured for engagement with each other, and movable between an open position and a closed position. The first and second cover members form a cavity for enclosing the cable splice when the cover members are in the closed position. Internal walls in at least one of the first and second cover members are configured to define a sealant containment space that at least partially surrounds the cavity. At least one latch is configured to maintain the first and second cover members in the closed position, the at least one latch configured to exert a compression force along a line extending through the sealant containment space.

A testing and cut-off device for a telephone or computer line to connect two incoming strands to two outgoing strands, comprises a testing well inside which are located a first couple of terminals corresponding to the two incoming strands and a second couple of terminals corresponding to the two outgoing strands, and a pivotal cover for closing the well. These two couples of terminals are insulated from one another, when the cover is open. Each terminal is accessible from the outside by a testing plug. The device further comprises electrical contacts in the cover for interconnecting the terminals when the cover is closed. Said interconnection means in the pivotal cover also comprise means for galvanically linking the latter with an additional electrical component outside the well when the cover is closed. The additional component may be within or outside the cover. If outside it may be connected by wires joined to insulation displacement contacts attached to the cover.

A connection device is particularly suited for connection of the two strands of a telephone or computer-related line in a sub-distribution terminal block. The device includes an insulating base with a cavity formed therein in which I.D.C. contacts are secured for receiving the strands. Opposite each I.D.C. contact is secured a blade for cutting the scrap of wire. A pusher, comprising a master screw for movement and lateral slots for introduction of the wires, is telescopically associated with this base. The cutting blade is provided so that, after the cut, the free end of the cut wire is disengaged from this blade. The assembly further forms a reservoir of sealing gel, or other like product, which is virtually closed.

The device includes channels into which sealing gel or grease can be injected from an orifice in the housing in the cavity which receives an electrical wire or plug. The channels are structured to reduce or avoid the formation of voids within the corresponding structure. A related method includes the step of injecting the sealing gel or grease via a channel and into a cavity which receives a line or wire therein.

This invention relates to a module, made in one and the same piece, intended for interconnecting two monopair lines, typically two telephone or computer-related lines. It brings together in one module an alignment of three functional zones: a first functional zone of connection of the two 'large wires' by I.D.C. and pusher with screw, a second functional zone comprising a test and possibly protection chamber closed by a cut-off lid, and a third functional zone comprising two I.D.C.'s for connection of the 'small wires' and a connection pusher.

This invention relates to a terminal interface for interconnection of one or more subscriber telephone lines. The interconnections are made, in the interface box, by non-wire connections such as a bus composed of parallel and longitudinal blades or a cut-out circuit. The compartment for the Distributor receives a module for rapid interconnection of telephone lines, and preferably, a protective module and an R-C module. The connections for the Subscriber comprise, in addition to another rapid interconnection module, a telephone test socket which is associated with electro-mechanical means which electrically insulate the Subscriber's line from the incoming line as soon as it is desired to plug into this socket a conjugate telephone plug.

This invention relates to a module for rapid interconnection of two monopair telephone lines by metal contacts with self-stripping slots. It comprises a base element which is fixed on the receiving metal rail, and which ensures connection of the incoming strands, an intermediate element which contains the major part of the connections for linkage, an upper element with master screw which ensures connection of the outgoing strands, and a fourth plug-in penta-pole element which forms a receptacle for an electrical circuit. The electrical circuit maintains electrical continuity, but may also, for example, receive an overvoltage arrester and possibly other additional components.
