A method of applying a lid () onto a neck () of a container (), the lid () having a side wall () extending around an axis and an end wall () extending transversely to said axis, comprises the following steps: &#x2014;positioning the lid () onto the neck (); &#x2014;exerting on the end wall () a force directed towards the container (), so as to level the lid () on the neck (); &#x2014;screwing the lid () onto the neck () by rotating the lid () in a screwing direction.

Method of, and an applying head for, applying a lid onto a container

A welding head comprises a welding element () for welding a lid () to an opening device of a container (). The welding head () further comprises a 5 compensating device () operable for compensating a misalignment between the welding element () and the lid (), thereby centering the welding element () relative to the lid ().

Apparatus for capping a container

An applying unit for applying lids to necks of containers may be provided. The applying unit may include a conveying device configured to advance the containers along a path in an advancement direction; a group of applying heads, each applying head configured to screw a lid onto a corresponding neck; and a movement device configured to move the group of applying heads along the advancement direction, so that each applying head may be coupled to a corresponding neck along a portion of the path. The movement device may be configured to act on a common support element configured to support the applying heads of the group, so as to synchronously move the applying heads along the advancement direction.

Applying unit for applying a lid onto a container

A unit for the application of opening devices on respective sealed first packages of food products, comprising: at least one first gripping device configured to receive, in use, a relative opening device and movable along a first path; the first path comprising a first stretch in which the opening device is applied onto the package; a first track; a first transfer element, which is operatively connected to the first gripping device; and at least one second transfer element; the first transfer element is movable along the first track and is movable relative to and independently of second transfer element.
