Metallurgical reactor for the production of cast iron, consisting of a metal casing internally lined, at least partially, with refractory material and provided, in the region of the top closure, with a duct through which high-temperature ferrous material is introduced, said reactor being equipped with a first series of lances for injecting the comburent gas, which are suitably directed and arranged on at least a first bottom level situated in the vicinity of the crucible for collecting the cast iron and through which, in association with a comburent gas, coal of suitable grain size is blown by means of a suitable carrier gas. Said duct has suitable cooling means and is provided, in the bottom terminal part, with nozzles for blowing in compressed gas. The middle zone of the casing of the reactor is lined internally with refractory material, pockets for receiving plates made of metal which is a good heat conductor being formed in said lining, said plates being provided on their side directed towards the outside of the reactor with heat exchanger means for cooling thereof.

Discharge screw ( ) for a moving hearth, and in particular for an annular rotary hearth ( ) of a reheat furnace for the heat treatment of loose materials, comprising a cylinder ( ) arranged above and substantially radially with respect to this annular hearth ( ) and turned by suitable actuators ( ) so as to discharge the materials from the edges of this annular hearth ( ); this cylinder ( ) comprises on its lateral surface a first series of helicoids ( ) beginning in an area close to its outermost end with respect to the furnace and a second series of helicoids ( ) beginning at its innermost end with respect to the furnace; the inclination of the helicoids ( ) of this first series is essentially symmetrical to the inclination of the helicoids ( ) of this second series; and in this screw ( ) each helicoid ( ) of one series comprises an inward end that meets the inward end of a corresponding helicoid ( ) of the other series in such a way that at at least one of the abovementioned ends a free final section is left for the removal of loose materials from an area underneath it on the annular hearth ( ).

Furnace for processes and treatments in a sub-stoichiometric atmosphere, includes a combustion chamber (1) provided with a fuel-feeding mechanism, feeding mechanism (3) for combustion promoter and an extraction mechanism (4) for the gases produced in the interior of the chamber (1). The feeding mechanism (3) for combustion promoter and the extraction mechanism (4) for the gases are connected, in an alternating way with suitable selection mechanisms (203, 213, 104, 114), to the furnace through at least one device (2) connected by a suitable mechanism (402) to an open port (121) on the combustion chamber (1) of the furnace. The device achieves post-combustion (102) of the gases, heat exchange and heat storage (112).

Furnace for processes and treatments in a sub-stoichiometric atmosphere

A rotary furnace for the treatment of minerals, includes an annular chamber provided with a material feeder apparatus and discharge apparatus for the material, disposed adjacent one another in a certain sector of the chamber. A plurality of burners are arranged all along the annular chamber on the side walls and on the top wall thereof. The furnace further includes a conduit for extracting the discharge gases. The gases from a first zone of the chamber downstream of the feeder means and upstream of the gas extraction means, with respect to the direction of rotation of said hearth, are transferred into a second zone upstream of the material discharge means and downstream of the gas extraction means through forced conveying of the gases by suction at the first zone and by pressure delivery at the second zone. A flow regulator is used to regulate the forced conveying.
