A cinematic parameter computing method of a satellite navigation system, including: receiving signals at a receiving apparatus from a plurality of satellites; processing said signals to provide received data; computing a first cinematic parameter value of said receiving apparatus according to a first computational method using said received data; computing a second cinematic parameter value of said receiving apparatus according to a second computational method using said received data and computing a distance value representing a difference between said first and second cinematic parameter values. The distance value is compared with a reference value providing a comparison result data and selecting one of first and second computational methods based on said comparison result data.

Cinematic parameter computing method of a satellite navigation system and receiving apparatus employing the method

A satellite orbit prediction method of a satellite navigation system includes storing satellite past ephemerides data associated with past time intervals and satellite recent ephemeris data associated with a recent time interval, and computing reference satellite positions based on the past and recent ephemerides data. The method also includes: computing estimated satellite positions by propagating on the past time intervals using a celestial mechanics force model and the recent ephemeris data, computing errors from the reference satellite positions and estimate satellite positions, and identifying a position error function by fitting a curve to the computed errors. The position error function is used to obtain corrected predicted satellite orbit portions.

Satellite orbit prediction method, receiving apparatus and navigation satellite system employing the method

A position computing method computes a position of a receiver using a satellite navigation system. The method includes: bringing a satellite receiver in a dark region of the satellite system; bringing the receiver into a visible region of the satellite system outside the dark region; allocating to the dark region a darkness category chosen between at least two categories based on a dark region crossing time at which the receiver crosses between the dark region and the visible region; allocating a visibility class, chosen between at least two distinct classes, to the visibility region; and selecting one of first and second receiver position computing methods based on the class and the category allocated. The method further includes calculating a receiver position of the receiver by applying the selected computing method.

Position computing method, receiving apparatus and navigation satellite system employing the method

The method is for receiving an OFDM signal according to which, during a frequency translation phase, there is introduced a phase and gain imbalance between the phase and quadrature components thereof, and a frequency offset relative to a main carrier of the OFDM signal. The method involves a compensation of the effects of the imbalance even in the presence of the frequency offset and provides a reference signal indicative of the effect of the imbalance and according to which a process is carried out to reduce the effect of the imbalance itself.
