The incontinence pad comprises a fluid permeable topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core being located between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent core comprises a first core layer and a fluid control layer. The first core layer comprises 100 gsm superabsorbent material or more. The absorbent core has a varying thickness profile as seen in the longitudinal direction (L), with a first thickness (T) in the intermediate portion and a second thickness (T) in the rear portion. The first thickness (T) in the intermediate portion is from 9 mm or more and the second thickness (T) is 4 mm or less, as measured under a load of load of 0.5 kPa. The region which has the second thickness (T) extends 30 mm or more in the longitudinal direction (L) from the core rear edge and toward the core front edge.

Incontinence pad with varying thickness profile

A urine incontinence pad has an absorbent core having a first core layer and a fluid control layer. The absorbent core has a varying thickness profile as seen in the longitudinal direction, with the intermediate portion having a first thickness under a load of 0.5 kPa and a first compressed thickness under a load of 2.5 kPa. The rear and front portions each have a second thickness under a load of 0.5 kPa and a second compressed thickness under a load of 2.5 kPa, wherein the second thickness is from 37% to 15% of the first thickness, the second compressed thickness is from 37% to 15% of the first compressed thickness and a ratio between the first and the second compressed thickness under a load of 2.5 kPa is equal or greater than a ratio between the first and the second thickness, under a load of 0.5 kPa.

The present invention relates to an absorbent article comprising a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid-impermeable backsheet and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet and the backsheet. The absorbent article comprises pressure sensitive adhesive on a garment facing surface of the backsheet, and the backsheet is a breathable polyolefin-based film and has a Water Vapour Transmission Rate measured according to NWSP 070.4.RO (15) of at least 1000 g/m/24 h, preferably at least 3000 g/m/24 h, and a tear resistance measured according to Elmendorf Tear ASTM D1922 (15) of at least 300 mN.

An absorbent product includes a liquid pervious topsheet, a liquid impervious backsheet and an absorbent core enclosed between the liquid pervious topsheet and liquid impervious backsheet. The openings are located in the central region so that the central region of the material with the plurality of openings has a lesser degree of elasticity than the edge regions.

The invention pertains to a foam material for absorption of aqueous liquids, a manufacturing method and an advantageous use of such a foam material, and an absorbent disposable article comprising such a foam material. The foam material is hydrophilic and primarily intended for use in absorbent disposable articles such as baby diapers, incontinence protectors and products for feminine hygiene. However, the foam material according to the invention is also suited for use in other absorbent articles, such as in different wiping materials, bandage materials and other similar products. The chemical structure of a surfactant, which is utilized as a combined emulsifying and hydrophilizing agent when manufacturing the foam material according to the invention, makes it possible to retain a sufficient proportion of the foam surfactant in the foam material even after repeated wettings, something which renders the foam material highly, permanently hydrophilic.
