An x-prism provides four triangular prisms each of which includes a hypotenuse side, a first side surface adjoining the hypotenuse side surface, a second side surface perpendicular to the first side surface, a first end surface and an opposite second end surface, the first and second end surfaces being at opposite sides of each of the triangular prisms, the triangular prisms being attached to each other with the hypotenuse side surfaces thereof facing outward. The four triangular prisms includes at least two triangular prisms with the first end surfaces thereof being coplanar with each other, and at least one triangular prism with the first end surface thereof being non-coplanar with the first end surfaces of the other triangular prisms.

X-prism for use in projector

A carrier, a locking member, a color filter unit and an elastic member are provided. The carrier includes a main body, a shaft and a lock-receiving portion. The shaft coaxially protrudes outwardly from the main body. The lock-receiving portion is defined in the shaft. The locking member is lockingly received in the lock-receiving portion. The color filter unit is disposed on the main body. The elastic member is interposed between the locking member and the color filter unit and is compressed therebetween to push the color filter unit against the main body. In this way, the color filter unit is firmly fixed on the main body and the color wheel assembly is assembled.

A fabrication method for hollow integration rod suitable for high temperature operation, comprising the steps: (a) pre-fixing a set of mirrors to be a hollow integration rod by a light curable adhesive (such as UV curable adhesive); and (b) fixing those mirrors permanently by an inorganic adhesive. Wherein the mirrors can be a High Reflective Mirror with dielectric thin films, or it could be a High Reflective Mirror made of metallic thin film and coating a dielectric thin films by deposition for enhancing the reflection and protection purpose; for a all dielectric film, since there are multi-layer of thin dielectric films been deposited thereon, to prevent the warpage or distortion due to film stress in deposition process, several layers of thin film of silicon oxide SiOx can be pre-deposited on the backside of the mirror to balance.

Structure and fabrication method for high temperature integration rod

An integration rod used in a projector. The integration rod includes a plurality of lenses that form the integration rod; a layer of high temperature hot-setting UV adhesive applied on the lenses to bond the lenses into a hollow rod structure; and a layer of ceramic adhesive applied on the hollow rod structure for stabilizing the hollow rod structure.

A method for fabricating a monolithic color wheel. The method includes (a) preparing a square transparent substrate; (b) forming a plurality of color filters on the square transparent substrate; and (c) cutting the square transparent substrate and the color filters together along a circular path, to form a color filter disk. Through these steps, a color filter disk of color wheel can be produced with better dynamic equilibrium quality, and will run more quietly and smoothly.

Monolithic color wheel and process for fabrication of the same

A method for balancing a color wheel. The rotational unbalance vector of a driving motor is measured, including its unbalance amount and direction. The unbalance of a color wheel is adjusted to make its unbalance amount to be the same of the driving motor. The color wheel is connected to the driving motor so that the unbalance direction thereof is opposite to each other to reach an expected balance. The color wheel structure includes a set of color filter and a ring, before starting the assembly, adjusting the unbalance vector of the ring and motor shaft first, and then to assemble it and make the unbalance vectors opposite.

Method for balancing color wheel and structure thereof

A color wheel with dovetailed balancing groove, includes a motor, a metal ring and a set of color filter set. At a rotatable portion of the color wheel, such as the peripheral portion between the metal ring and the housing of the motor, or on the peripheral surface of the metal ring, a balancing groove with narrow opening and wider inside is formed thereon. Using the feature of a narrow opening and wider inside, glue is added into the opening and dries to become solid balancing material. The color wheel is less prone to deviate from the metal ring, even though a relative larger centrifugal force is induced and acted thereon while the color is running at higher speed and higher temperature.
