Techniques for determining relevant electronic content in response to queries is disclosed. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, the techniques may be realized as a computer implemented method for determining relevant electronic content in response to a query. The method may comprise: receiving a query from a user device; categorizing the query to identify one or more relevant electronic content sources; formatting the query according to one or more electronic content source specifics for the one or more electronic content sources; transmitting the formatted query to the one or more electronic content sources; merging results in response to the formatted query to the one or more electronic content sources; merging results based at least in part on one or more factors; and formatting the results for delivering to the user device.

Techniques for determining relevant electronic content in response to queries

A method, system, and medium are provided for using social information to determine influencers amongst a group of subscribers subscribing to services offered by a wireless-service carrier. A group of subscribers is identified, and a level of social-connectedness for each subscriber is determined based on cliques shared by pairs of subscribers and common friends shared by pairs of subscribers. An overall influence score is generated for each subscriber based on the level of social-connectedness. A set of subscribers is identified as having high influence scores; the set of subscribers comprises influencers. Incentives are provided to the set of subscribers.

Identifying influencers using social information

Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for identifying similarly located wireless devices. In a particular embodiment, a method provides processing location information that indicates past locations of the wireless communication devices to generate location profiles for the wireless communication devices. The method further provides processing groups of the location profiles to determine location-similarity metrics among the location profiles within the groups and determining if any of the location-similarity metrics for any of the groups satisfies a similarity criteria indicating similarly located devices. If one of the location-similarity metrics for one of the groups satisfies the similarity criteria, then the method provides generating device information indicating a location-association among the wireless communication devices that correspond to the location profiles in that one group.

Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for deriving a wireless device location from base station signaling. In a particular embodiment, a method provides monitoring signaling transmitted by a base station serving a plurality of wireless communication devices. The method further provides identifying a wireless communication device of the plurality of wireless communication devices from the signaling and identifying an active set carried in the signaling that is associated with the wireless communication device. The method further provides determining a location of the wireless communication device based on the active set.

Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods for extracting location signatures from data received from mobile devices on a wireless communication network. In a particular embodiment, a method provides, upon determining a location of a wireless communication device, receiving data generated by an application executing on the wireless communication device and using the location to determine whether the data contains information pertaining to the location of the wireless communication device. If the data contains the information pertaining to the location of the wireless communication device, the method provides identifying a location signature specific to the application and using the location signature to determine whether subsequent data transferred from a plurality of wireless communication devices contains information pertaining to a location of any of the plurality of wireless communication devices.

The invention is directed to methods for predicting future locations based on time clustering. Historical location data from a particular period of time is used to identify locations or places. The period of time is divided into even time slots. For each time slot, a probability distribution is computed by calculating a probability that the mobile device is located at each identified location during that time slot. The time slots are clustered into time slot groups based on similar probability distributions. For each time slot group, a probability distribution is calculated representing a probability that the mobile device is present at each location during the period of time defined by the time slot group.

A system and method may include retrieving a first taxonomy comprising at least one first category and one or more second taxonomies, at least one second category being associated with at least one of the one or more second taxonomies. The system and method may further include creating a new taxonomy by merging the first taxonomy with the second taxonomy based on a comparison of a first category profile of the at least one first category with a second category profile of the at least one second category.
