A patient airway dome including an adjustable frame having a hinge such that the hinge allows the frame to adjust between an erected position to create an airway dome and a collapsed position that allows the frame to lay flat, a dome covering located over the retractable frame, a suction port which is connected to a conventional device in order to provide negative pressure to patient airway dome, and an arm access assembly operatively connected to the dome covering, wherein the arm access assembly includes an opening in the dome covering and a closure assembly located adjacent to the opening.

Patient airway dome and methods of making and using same

The improved endoscopy mask is a single-use, lightweight, disposable, easy-to-use endoscopy mask that is secured around the patient's head and neck. It contains the spread of any respiratory pathogens during upper G.I. endoscopy and extubation, thereby allowing the gastroenterologist to insert and withdraw the gastroscope (upper G.I. endoscope) through an opening in the mask. The mask can be utilized for airway intervention to contain pathogens in the intensive care unit (ICU), emergency department (ED), operating room (OR), and the G.I. endoscopy suite. It can also potentially be utilized away from the hospital in ambulances, hospice care, and nursing homes. The endoscopy mask confines potentially dangerous airway secretions to a sealed area around the patient's nose and mouth.

Method of using a gastro-intestinal scope for the disinfection of a colon

A gastro-intestinal (GI) scope disinfection and sterilization device including a gastro-intestinal (GI) scope having an insertion tube and a universal cord and an ultraviolet (UV) light assembly, wherein the UV light assembly includes a power source, a UV light box operatively connected to the power source, and first and second UV light sources operatively connected to the UV light box, wherein the first UV light source is located within an interior of the insertion tube and the second UV light source is located within an interior of the universal cord in order to disinfect and sterilize an interior of the gastro-intestinal (GI) scope lumen. Also, an external UV light source assembly is used to substantially surround a UV insertion tube assembly and the exterior of the insertion tube in order to disinfect and sterilize a portion of an exterior portion of the gastro-intestinal (GI) scope.

Gastro-intestinal scope sterilization, disinfection and storage device and methods of making and using same

Surgical gown and method of manufacturing the surgical gown. In a first embodiment, the surgical gown requires only one operating room person to assist a surgeon in donning the gown. A shoulder flap extends from a rear torso portion, over a shoulder portion and to a front torso portion of the gown. With assistance of only one other person, the surgeon rotates to enclose himself within the surgical gown, secure the flap to the front of the gown and tie waist tie strings. A second embodiment gown is self-donning. The second embodiment comprises a pole to which the flap and one waist tie string are removably attached. The surgeon rotates to enclose himself within the gown, removes the flap and waist tie string from the pole, attaches the flap to the gown and ties the waist tie strings to complete the gowning procedure.

Surgical appliance kit and system for releasably securing a surgical appliance to a surgical field and method of assembling the surgical appliance kit. The surgical appliance kit and system includes a surgical tray having the surgical appliance and a plurality of hook-and-loop attachment members disposed thereon. A cover is attached to the surgical tray and covers the surgical appliance and the plurality of attachment members. In use, a 'hook' attachment member is adhesively attached to the surgical appliance and a 'loop' attachment member is adhesively attached to the surgical field. The hook attachment member is placed into engagement with the loop attachment member. In this manner, the surgical appliance is releasably secured to the surgical field, so that the surgical appliance will not inadvertently fall from the surgical field.
