An electric motor pump system includes a variable displacement pump, an electric motor connected to drive the variable displacement pump, a first control piston configured to limit an output pressure characteristic of the pump, and a second control piston controlled via a servo valve according to an output speed of the electric motor. In embodiments, the second piston is configured to maintain a substantially constant output flow of the pump as the output speed of the electric motor changes. With embodiments, the first and second control pistons may be configured to act on a yoke of the variable displacement pump.

Electric motor pump system and method

A pump system includes a pressure compensator and a speed compensator for controlling the displacement of a variable displacement pump having an inlet and an outlet. The variable displacement pump is driven by a drive shaft powered by an electric motor. The pressure compensator adjusts the displacement of the variable displacement pump based on a pump pressure at the pump outlet. The speed compensator adjusts a maximum magnitude of the displacement of the variable displacement pump based on a speed of the electric motor.

A fluid device system includes a fluid pump, an electric motor in engagement with the fluid pump, and a controller. The electric motor is adapted for rotation in response to an electric signal. The controller is adapted to communicate the electric signal to the electric motor. The controller includes a lookup table having a plurality of performance data related to the fluid pump and the electric motor. The performance data from the lookup table is used by the controller to set aspects of the electrical signal communicated to the electric motor in order to achieve a desired attribute of the fluid pump.

Electronic control for a rotary fluid device

A fluid device includes a housing defining a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. A variable displacement assembly is in fluid communication with the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. The variable displacement assembly includes a rotor assembly, a flexible ring, and a plurality of ring supports. The rotor assembly includes a rotor having a plurality of reciprocating members. The flexible ring is disposed about the rotor assembly. The flexible ring includes an inner surface, which is adapted for engagement with the plurality of reciprocating members, and an outer surface. The plurality of ring supports is disposed about the flexible ring. Each of the plurality of ring supports includes a support portion and a pivot portion about which the ring support selectively pivots. The support portion is adapted for engagement with the outer surface of the flexible ring.

Example fluid circuits (e.g., within aircrafts) include first and second pump assemblies. The first pump assembly has an electric motor and a first fluid pump. The first fluid pump is coupled to the electric motor and has a case drain port that is in fluid communication with a case drain region of the first fluid pump. The second pump assembly is powered by hydraulic pressure from the first fluid outlet of the first fluid pump and functions to augment flow through the case drain region of the first fluid pump.

A bleed valve assembly includes a control assembly having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The control assembly defines a fluid passageway in fluid communication with the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. An electromechanical valve is engaged with the control assembly. The electromechanical valve provides selective fluid communication between the passageway and the fluid outlet. A fluid sensor is in fluid communication with the passageway. The fluid sensor includes a sensing tip and is in electrical communication with the electromechanical valve. A valve is disposed in the passageway of the control assembly. The valve prevents fluid communication of non-gaseous fluid between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet.

Fault-tolerant bleed valve assembly

A drive apparatus is provided to transmit force from a source of power to a driven assembly, such as a pump, in an aircraft. The drive apparatus can be operated from a disengaged condition back to an engaged condition when the aircraft is on the ground. The drive apparatus includes a first annular array of teeth which is connected with an input member and a second annular array of teeth which is connected with an output member. A plurality of disengagement levers extend outward from the output member. A retaining member is connected with outer end portions of the disengagement levers. An actuator member or yoke is movable to move the retaining member and the outer ends of the engagement levers to disengage the drive apparatus.
