Described are apparatus and methods for preventing sperm passage through a reproductive structure of a patient, and also for subsequently reversing the preventative measure in order to restore fertility to the patient. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes an elongate member arranged to form a frame having a distal and proximal opening and configured to be positioned within a lumen of the reproductive structure. The apparatus may also have a flow reducing member coupled to the frame such that when the frame is positioned within the lumen, the flow reducing member substantially impedes, reduces, or totally obstructs passage of sperm through the lumen.

Reversible tubal contraceptive device

A site marker is provided that includes a generally hollow body defining a cavity. A deployment line within the site marker positions at least one marker element within the body portion. The deployment line has a first end that is fixedly secured to a first end of the body portion and a second end that is secured to a second end of the body portion. The deployment line is pre-biased so as to pull the first end of the body portion towards the second end of the body portion, and thereby expand the body portion.

Some embodiments of a spray device can be configured to maintain a viscous fluid in isolation from a propellant fluid until after the viscous fluid exits from a nozzle of the spray device. For example, the viscous fluid may include an adhesive such as surgical adhesive. When the spray device is actuated, the surgical adhesive can exit the nozzle so that the propellant fluid acts upon the surgical adhesive to break it into droplets for application on a targeted site.

Spray devices and methods

This invention provides a pressure sensing catheter, and method for using the same, which eliminates the practitioners' need to fill the catheter with fluid manually prior to insertion, and thereby increases the accuracy and ease of the overall pressure-sensing procedure. The illustrative catheter includes, in its proximal end, a transducer base or housing that is permanently attached to the catheter shaft. The base includes, inserted thereinto, one or more miniaturized pressure transducer assemblies, which are in fluid communication with corresponding pressure lumens that extend down the shaft and are in communication with one or more predetermined balloons by discrete channels or ports, which provide a fluid passage between the interior space of the balloon and the corresponding pressure lumen. The integral assembly includes a predetermined, previously installed charge of fluid that extends from the transducer, through the corresponding pressure lumen and into the interior volume of the sensing balloon. The charge of fluid has been made free of any air bubbles at the point of manufacture, and is delivered fully charged, so that maximum sensing accuracy and minimum setup time are achieved. In alternate embodiments the catheter can include a fluid infusion/flushing lumen and port interconnected to a proximal fluid connection.

Pressure sensing catheter

A collapsible, hands-free emesis container is provided with improved portability, deployment and emesis reception characteristics. The container includes a receptacle for receiving emesis, a chute for directing emesis and a retainer to maintain desired positioning of the container about a support structure, which may be the neck of an impaired patient. The container may be provided in a package having size characteristics for easy storage and access by emergency medical service personnel.

A molding machine for molding microparts containing between 0.001 to 3.5 cubic centimeters of plastic shot volume includes a plasticizing portion operatively connected to an injection portion and a mold portion. A valve member is provided to open and close the connection between the plasticizing portion and the injection portion. A linear motor member is associated with the injection portion to permit molding times of 0.01 seconds at pressures up to about 100,000 psi during injection of the molten plastic into the mold portion.
