The invention is a monitoring well cover with a generally planar lid, a generally cylindrical rim, and one or more generally cylindrical skirts. The lid has threads on its side to secure the lid to the rim. The rim has an L-shaped upper edge for receiving and sealing tightly with the lid and has snaps positioned around its lower edge for receiving and sealing tightly with one of the skirts. The skirts each having flanges positioned around their upper ends and snaps positioned around their lower ends such that the first of the skirts may seal tightly with the rim and each subsequent skirt may seal tightly with the skirt preceding it. The lid, the rim, and the skirt are all constructed from a fiber reinforced, heat stabilized, high strength thermoplastic.

Flush mount well protector

The present invention provides for a key and bolt lock device. The key is constructed in a housing shell to be received by the head of the bolt. The key includes a power source, typically a battery, and a transmit coil which is capable of transmitting both energy and data from the key to a receiving coil in the bolt. This energy and data transfer is usually conducted by magnetic coupling. The key also includes a memory device for storing security codes which are used to compare to security codes stored in the bolt as well as a device for retrieving and transmitting the security code, typically an 8-bit microcontroller. The bolt has a body which is operatively associated with a head of the bolt so that the head rotates on the body when the bolt is in a locked position. The bolt also includes a latching device which is capable of attaching the head of the bolt to the body of the bolt so that the head and body may be rotated together. The bolt also contains a receiving coil capable of receiving energy and data from the transmitting coil of the key through magnetic coupling. The bolt contains a memory device for storing security codes and energy storage device. The bolt is operated by a microcontroller.

Key and bolt lock device

A safety shutdown system for a rotary drill rig with a power supply, a support frame and a rotary drill spindle and drill tool connected to the support frame. The drill spindle and tool are driven by a drive train that is connected by a clutch with a declutch mechanism to an internal combustion engine and an engine solenoid with a shut-off switch. A brake with a brake solenoid is also provided on the drive train. An infrared beam transmitter is positioned adjacent to the drill tool and an infrared beam receiver is positioned adjacent to the drill tool and on the opposite side of the drill from the transmitter so that the receiver can receive infrared beams emitted from the transmitter. A controller is connected between the clutch solenoid and the engine solenoid. The controller is activated when the infrared beam between the transmitter and the receiver is interrupted. The controller activates at least one of the clutch engaging solenoid and the engine solenoid to stop the drill spindle and drill tool.
