The present invention relates to a novel electroactive material which comprises a graphitic carbon phase C and a (semi)metal phase and/or a (semimetal) oxide phase (MOphase) and also to the use of the electroactive material in anodes for lithium ion cells. The invention further relates to a process for producing such materials.
