A release composition comprising a waterborne latex polymer particles comprising the polymerization reaction product of: i) a first monomer having an alkyl group with 12 to 24 carbon atoms, a nitrogen-containing or ester linking group, and a free-radically polymerizable (meth)acryl group; ii) a second free-radically polymerizable monomer having less than 12 carbon atoms; and iii) a free-radically polymerizable surfactant; and an aqueous carrier liquid. Described herein is a latex coating composition comprising particles of polymer and articles therefrom, wherein at least 60% of interpolymerized monomeric units of the polymer are of formula I, wherein Ris H or CH, L is an alkylene group comprising 1-4 carbon atoms, Rand Rare independently selected from an alkyl group comprising 1 to 3 carbon atoms, n is an integer from 11 to 21, and A is a counter anion.

Presently describes are articles, such as liquid reservoirs, comprising a liquid repellent surface. The liquid repellent surface comprises a surface layer comprising a silane or siloxane material, wherein the liquid repellent surface is not a lubricant impregnated surface. In one embodiment, the liquid repellent surface (e.g. layer) comprise a silicone melt additive and a thermoplastic polymeric material component. In some embodiments, the article (e.g. liquid reservoir) comprise a thermoplastic polymeric material.
