Techniques described herein may allow for the granting and revoking of temporary access, for User Equipment ('UE') devices, to a wireless network. Multiple UEs may be registered with a group, where only a limited quantity of UEs in the group may be active at a given time. Once granted access, a UE device may have limits on the access, such as a maximum duration and/or a data limit. When a particular UE device, in a group, requests access to the network, a Group Device Authentication Server ('GDAS') may determine whether to grant the access, based on how many other UEs in the group (if any) currently have access. The GDAS may also revoke the access once granted (e.g., once the maximum duration has been reached).

System and method for group device access to wireless networks

A device searches for a primary access network, and acquires the primary access network. The device also requests a service provided by a network connected to the primary access network, and attaches to the primary access network only when the service is requested by the device.

User equipment attachment/detachment from a long term evolution (LTE) network

A method including receiving a request for a service or an application from a user device associated with a customer; determining a type of service or a type of application; providing the service or the application; performing real-time tracking of the customer's usage of the service or the application based on the type of service or the type of application; generating one or more recommendations pertaining to the service or the application based on the real-time tracking; and sending the one or more recommendations to the customer via the user device.

Recommendations based on real-time usage information

A third-party application, executing at a mobile device, may be provided with information describing congestion levels in a network, such as a cellular wireless network through which the mobile device connects. In one implementation, the third-party application may select, based on the information describing the congestion levels, a data flow, from a number of data flows, to use when communicating with a destination device, each of the data flows being associated with different quality of service (QoS) parameters and being associated with different charging rates. The mobile device may communicate, through a proxy server, and using the selected data flow, with the destination device. The communication with the destination device may be implemented using sponsored data that is not charged to an account associated with an owner of the mobile device.

Providing network congestion information to mobile devices for sponsored data

Techniques described herein may enable a wireless telecommunications network to implement different types of core networks, and enable end devices&#x2014;user equipment (UEs) such as broadband devices (e.g., smartphones, tablets) and Internet of Things (IoT)/Machine Type Communication (MTC) devices (sometimes referred to herein as Machine-to-Machine (M2M) devices)&#x2014;to connect to whichever core network is most suitable to the capabilities of the UE. For example, a broadband core network may provide UEs with broadband connectivity for media sessions (e.g., telephone calls, video calls, etc.) and broadband Internet access. An M2M core network may provide UEs with network connectivity consistent with the lower resource usage patterns typical M2M devices. Additionally, a UE connected to a first core network (e.g., an M2M core network) may detect a prompt to connect to a second core network (e.g., a broadband core network), and in response, may dynamically switch to the second core network.

Providing wireless services using multiple core networks

Technologies are described for a collapsible cart and method of assembly. The cart has a cart base and a removable cart table top. The cart base has a rectangular cart frame and a foldable leg extending from a first side, proximate each corner, of the rectangular cart frame. Each foldable leg is configured to rotate about a first end and to lock into an extended orientation, and to rotate into a folded orientation and become proximate the rectangular cart frame. A clasp assembly is proximate a second end of each of the foldable legs and are configured to clasp arms proximate each corner of the removable cart table top.

The first MME device creates a context for the user device based on the information, stores the context, and creates an optimized context based on the context, wherein a size of the optimized context is smaller than a size of the context. The first MME device also identifies a second MME device that is a backup for the first MME device, and transmits the optimized context to the second MME device.

Optimizing user device context for mobility management entity (MME) resiliency

A subscriber device receives a message from a network device external to the subscriber device, where the network device implements a first metering engine that meters usage of a network service by a subscriber using the subscriber device and where the message includes the subscriber's usage data. The subscriber device includes a second usage metering engine that receives the subscriber's usage data from the usage synchronization unit, and performs real-time metering of the subscriber's usage of the network service, based on the subscriber's usage data received from the network device and independently of the first metering engine of the network device, to generate real-time usage metering data. The second usage metering engine further outputs the real-time usage metering data to a display at the subscriber device.

Real-time usage monitoring for communication devices

A first mobility management entity (MME) device receives an attachment request that includes information associated with a user device. The first MME device creates a context for the user device based on the information, stores the context, and creates an optimized context based on the context, where a size of the optimized context is smaller than a size of the context. The first MME device also identifies a second MME device that is a backup for the first MME device, and transmits the optimized context to the second MME device.

A system includes a device that receives a lawful intercept request from a law enforcement agency, and determines whether a packet data lawful intercept or a session initiation protocol (SIP)-based applications (SBA) lawful intercept is requested by the lawful intercept request. The device also provisions, when a packet data lawful intercept is requested by the lawful intercept request, a policy control and charging rules function (PCRF) and a packet data network (PDN) gateway (PGW) for the packet data lawful intercept. The device further provisions, when a SBA lawful intercept is requested, a proxy call session control function. (P-CSCF), a serving-CSCF (S-CSCF), and a session border controller (SBC) for the SBA lawful intercept.

Integrated lawful intercept for internet protocol multimedia subsystem (IMS) over evolved packet core (EPC)

A method may include receiving, from a user device, a request to access a long term evolution (LTE) network; sending, to one or more servers of a group of servers, a query to obtain information associated with a respective traffic condition and processing capacity; identifying a particular server via which to establish a communication session with the user device based on a determination that the particular server has a reserve processing capacity that is greater than a respective reserve processing capacity associated with other ones of the servers, where the reserve processing capacity is based on a traffic condition and processing capacity associated with the particular server; and sending, to the particular server, an instruction to establish the communication session, where sending the instruction enables the particular server to establish the communication session via which the user device is to access the network.

Bi-directional load balancing

Identification of radio coverage of a mobile station (MS) via a pico cell, such as an IP-BTS in a user premises (e.g. residence or business customer location), enables a mobile/wireless service provider to differentiate between coverage under a pico cell and coverage under a macro network. In a disclosed example, when the MS requests registration/authentication through a pico cell, a related signaling message includes a pico cell identifier (pID). A home location register (HLR) is provisioned with a pID, so that the HLR can decide to accept or reject the registration/authentication requests. For example, if the particular MS is provisioned for services from a specific pico cell, the HLR will grant the registration/authentication and allow the network to process calls for the mobile station through the identified pico cell. This enables the provider to allow discounted services through pico cell, e.g. as a replacement for a landline.
