The invention relates to a rotary multi-phase electrical motor wherein stator teeth corresponding to one same phase are grouped on a distinct and magnetically isolated stator section. The number of teeth per stator section is an odd number of a value of at least three and the difference between the total number of stator teeth and the number of rotor permanent magnet poles is one. The teeth are preferably equidistantly distributed along the stator. The invention also relates to a wheel motor using the rotary multi-phase electrical motor described above.

Multi-phase electrical motor for use in a wheel

Structures of direct current motors or ac commutator (Universal) motors which use a concentrated winding on the rotor with coils wound around the teeth. The number of commutator segments is higher than the number of rotor teeth. Several coils are wound around the same tooth. The terminals of the coils are connected to different segments of the commutator. The parallel paths of the armature winding are perfectly balanced. An equal current distribution through the parallel circuits of the armature is maintained and there is no circulation current between these parallel circuits. The problems related to commutation are reduced because the value of the coil inductances is low. The copper volume of the end-windings, the Joule losses and the axial length of the motor armature are lower than a lap or a wave winding with interlocked coils. Two kinds of structures with a concentrated winding are presented: some with rotor teeth with identical dimensions and some with rotor teeth with different dimensions.

A magnetic circuit component having a plurality of claws arranged in a plurality of rows, with the base of each claw connected to a common yoke. A plurality of non-interlaced coils constituting a multi-phase winding are included, with the coils being wound around the bases of corresponding claws, and being distributed uniformly in the direction of motion.

Polyphase claw pole structures for an electrical machine

The system includes a permanent magnet three-phase motor and an electronic current controlled inverter by pulse width modulation. The motor has twenty-two poles and twenty-four slots, three phases and a cylindrical outer rotor. This structure minimizes torque ripple and maximizes energy efficiently. All coil windings are wound around the stator teeth. A winding configuration is proposed. The motor phases are supplied by alternating rectangular current waveforms. A specific inverter control system is described to maximize efficiency and reduce current ripple and electromagnetic interference under motorizing or generating operations. The current control is realized by using the MOSFETs voltage for the current measurement.

High performance brushless motor and drive for an electrical vehicle motorization

A transformer for low frequency applications of from 50 Hz to 1000 Hz is described. The transformer comprises a core having a cylindrical symmetry around a main revolution axis. The core is formed of a soft isotropic magnetic composite material composed of iron and resin. Windings are enclosed in the magnetic core and disposed about a central column of the magnetic core and magnetically coupled with the inductor for low frequency applications, DC to 1000 Hz of similar construction is also described, the inductor comprises a core having a cylindrical symmetry around a main revolution axis. Winding is enclosed in the magnetic core and disposed about a central column of the magnetic core and magnetically coupled with the magnetic core. The core is formed by core sections.
