A gear oil composition that has a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. in the range of ≥68 to ≤1000 csdt when measured in accordance with ASTM D445 can be made. The gear oil composition is useful as a lubricant in a gear box, especially in a wind turbine gear box.

The presently claimed invention relates to a gear oil composition having a kinematic viscosity at 40° C. in the range of ≥68 to ≤1000 cSt when measured in accordance with ASTM D445. The gear oil composition is useful as a lubricant in a gear box, especially in a wind turbine gear box.

The present invention is directed to the use of poly(polyisobutylenemethacrylate) as viscosity index improving component in lubricating oil compositions. The invention is further related to lubricating oil compositions comprising poly(polyisobutylenemethacrylate) with enhanced shear stability.

A lubricant composition includes a base oil present in an amount of greater than 70 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the lubricant composition and an antioxidant. The antioxidant has the structure: wherein each X is independently C-A or N, so long as at least one X is N but no more than two of X are N. Moreover, A is H, cyano or an electron donating group that: (1) has an atom having at least one lone pair of electrons that is bonded directly to the aromatic ring; or (2) is an aryl group or alkyl group. Further, each R is independently H, an alkyl group, or aryl group and each R' is independently an alkyl group or an aryl group.

Z is chosen from a hydrogen atom and an electron donating group that has an atom having at least one lone pair electrons that is bonded directly to the aromatic ring or is an aryl or alkyl group. 

The presently claimed invention is directed to poly(meth)acrylate copolymers containing alkyl(meth)acrylate comonomer with branched C17 alkyl group. The invention is further related to lubricating oil compositions comprising poly(meth)acrylate copolymers containing alkyl(meth) acrylate comonomer with branched C17 alkyl group as viscosity index improving component.

The friction reducing compound has the following general formula: wherein R is an alkyl or alkenyl group having 8 or more carbon atoms, each Ris an independently selected hydrocarbon group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms, and n is 1.

Friction-reducing compound, method of producing same, and lubricant composition

This disclosure is directed to a lubricant composition having improved compatibility with fluoropolymer seals. The lubricant composition includes a base oil and a sulfonate ester. The disclosure is also directed to an additive package for a lubricant composition that provides improved compatibility with fluoropolymer seals. The additive package includes the sulfonate ester. The disclosure is also directed to a method of improving compatibility of a lubricant composition with a fluoropolymer seal disposed in an internal combustion engine. The sulfonate ester improves the compatibility with fluoropolymer seals of the resultant lubricant composition.

Enantiomerically enriched hydroxychromanones are obtained by the AlCl -catalyzed intramolecular Friedel-Crafts acylation of the corresponding 3-phenoxy-2-alkylcarbonyloxy-propionic acid followed by cleavage of the carboxylate in the presence of an alkali metal peroxide or hydroperoxide. Enantiomerically enriched cis-aminochromanols can then be prepared by treating the hydroxychromanones with a hydroxylamine and hydrogenating the resulting oxime. The cis-aminochromanols can be employed as intermediates in the production of HIV protease inhibitors which are useful for treating HIV infection and AIDS.
