Methods for providing corrosion inhibition in conduits, containers, and wellbores penetrating subterranean formations are provided. In some embodiments, the methods include contacting a metal surface with a fluid that includes a corrosion inhibitor additive, in certain embodiments, the corrosion inhibitor additive includes an tonic liquid.

Ionic liquid corrosion inhibitors

A low dosage hydrate inhibitor blend comprising a cationic surfactant and a co-surfactant. The cationic surfactant has the structural formula: wherein: R1 is an alkyl group or alkenyl group having from 5 to 22 carbon atoms, R2 and R3 are alkyl groups having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R4 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and X&#x2014; is selected from the group of a carboxylate, an acrylate, a methacrylate, a halide, a phosphonate, a sulfate, a sulfonate, a hydroxide, a carbonate, or any combination thereof; and The co-surfactant is present in the inhibitor blend in an amount of no greater than about 10 percent by weight based on the total weight of the blend.

Low dosage hydrate inhibitor

Dual cation hydrate inhibitor compositions and methods of using such compositions to, for example, inhibit the formation of gas hydrate agglomerates are provided. In some embodiments, such methods include introducing a hydrate inhibitor composition into a fluid, wherein the hydrate inhibitor composition includes at least one compound having the structural formula: wherein each of R, R, and Ris independently a Cto Chydrocarbon chain, wherein Ris selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and any Cto Chydrocarbon chain, wherein each of Rand Ris independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and a Cto Chydrocarbon chain, wherein Xand Yare counter anions, and wherein each of a and b is independently an integer from 1 to 10.

Dual cation hydrate inhibitors

A method of servicing a wellbore penetrating at least a portion of a subterranean formation, including placing into the wellbore a wellbore servicing fluid including a friction reducer, an iron control agent, and an aqueous fluid. Methods of making and using a wellbore servicing fluid for iron mitigation

Methods and compositions for treating aqueous fluids that may be included in treatment fluids that are used for treating a subterranean formation. In some embodiments, the methods include: providing a treatment fluid including an aqueous fluid and a composition that includes an oxygen scavenger, a pH-adjusting agent, and a corrosion inhibitor, wherein the aqueous fluid is aerated; contacting a metal surface with the treatment fluid; and introducing the treatment fluid into a wellbore penetrating at least a portion of a subterranean formation.

A method may include: generating a signal in a conduit; measuring the signal; generating data representing a deposit in the conduit, the data being generated by a deposition identification model, wherein the deposition identification model utilizes the signal as an input; generating a treatment plan based at least in part on the data representing the deposit; and applying a chemical additive to the conduit based at least in part on the treatment plan.

Treatment of pipeline deposits

Methods involving anti-agglomerant hydrate inhibitors and polyaromatic hydrocarbons for hydrate inhibition are provided. In some embodiments, the methods include introducing a hydrate inhibitor composition including an anti-agglomerant hydrate inhibitor into a fluid including (i) water and (ii) one of gas, liquid hydrocarbon, and any combination thereof; and introducing a polyaromatic hydrocarbon into the fluid.

A method comprising contacting a proppant, water, and a water external emulsion to form a first mixture, wherein the water external emulsion has an organic internal phase comprising a surface modifying agent; contacting the first mixture with an emulsion breaker to form second mixture comprising a proppant coated with the surface modifying agent; and recovering a coated proppant from the second mixture.

Methods for the use of zinc ammonium carbonate as a scavenger of sulfur-containing species encountered in oilfield operations are provided. In one embodiment, the methods include introducing a sulfide scavenging additive including zinc ammonium carbonate into at least a portion of a conduit through which a potential sulfur-containing fluid is flowing.

Zinc ammonium carbonate sulfide scavengers

Hydrogen sulfide (HS) and/or mercaptan scavengers are chemicals that remove HS and/or mercaptans from gas, oil and water. Water-based formulations may be made and used employing scavenging compounds having the formulae: wherein each R, R, R, and Rare the same or different and are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, an alkyl, an alkenyl, an aryl, an acyl, a halogen, a hydroxyl, a nitro, an alkyl ester, an aryl ester, an alkyl ether, an aryl ether, a hydroxymethyl, an anhydride group, an amino, and a sulfide. In one non-limiting embodiment the compounds (A) and (B) do not contain nitrogen atoms. Water-based formulations, such as those using a protic solvent with the above compounds, work well as HS scavengers.

Water-based formulation of H2S/mercaptan scavenger for fluids in oilfield and refinery applications

A water soluble corrosion inhibitor containing a compound having at least one five-membered heterocyclic ring having at least one thione group and at least one other pendant group is described. Such a corrosion inhibiting compound can be made by reacting together a thiourea and a polyalkylene polyamine. A specific example includes preparing 1-(2-aminoethyl)-2-imidazolidinethione by reacting thiourea, per se, and diethylenetriamine. These corrosion inhibition compounds have greatly reduced aquatic toxicity, and may be employed as corrosion inhibitors in hydrocarbon streams.

Low toxicity corrosion inhibitor

The invention is an effective, easy to produce, and economical corrosion inhibitor which can be used in a variety of environments. The corrosion inhibitor of the present invention is the salt of certain tertiary amines. The corrosion inhibitor is the reaction product of one or more tertiary amines and certain carboxylic acids, preferably a mixture of mercaptocarboxylic and carboxylic acids.
