A method and device for accessing maintenance functions of an aircraft from a mobile maintenance terminal. First, the situation of the aircraft is determined. Then, if this situation allows a mobile maintenance terminal to access a maintenance information system on the ground and the information system of the aircraft, a connection is established between the mobile maintenance terminal and the maintenance information system on the ground and at least one maintenance command intended for the information system of the aircraft is transmitted to the maintenance information system on the ground. If this situation allows the mobile maintenance terminal to access only the information system of the aircraft, a connection is established between the mobile maintenance terminal and the information system of the aircraft and at least one maintenance command is transmitted to the information system of the aircraft.

Method and device for accessing maintenance functions of an aircraft from a mobile maintenance terminal

A device for communication between a portable computer system including a display screen and avionic equipment items comprises shielded walls forming at least a partial Faraday cage. The device also includes at least one wide band high output wireless transmitter-receiver arranged inside the shielded walls and adapted for carrying out a very short range point-to-point radio communication with the portable computer system when the portable computer system is placed inside the shielded walls. The device also includes at least one interface connected to the avionic equipment items and adapted for transmitting data originating from the portable computer system to the avionic equipment items and data originating from the avionic equipment items to the portable computer system, through the at least one said transmitter-receiver.

Device and method for communication between a portable computer system and items of avionics equipment

The present invention relates to a computer maintenance system for an aircraft comprising a server hosting maintenance software and at least one access terminal. The system comprises a KVM switch over IP linked to said server. The terminal is adapted to connect to said switch by means of a TCP/IP connection and hosts a client application. Symmetrically, the switch hosts a server application, said applications being suitable for implementing a protocol for remotely accessing a video frame buffer. Each video frame is transmitted from the server application to the client application in the form of bitmap image data, uncompressed or else compressed by a lossless compression algorithm.
